Picture 1
In the winter the cows live indoors.
Picture 2
I was initially worried about what to expect.
Picture 3
A day in the life of a cow.
George does not make loads of money from breeding cows. This is why I know he is so passionate about what he does & he takes pride in his cattle.
Each cow had its own “passport” to prove they were bona fide animals with a traceable history.
Picture 1
No need! They were all very healthy, were cleaned out every couple of days & looked very clean.
Picture 2
George doesn’t breed his cows. He buys them in when they are very young & then grows them.
They are fed on silage, calf mix (most of which comes from the farm) & molasses, which is a treacle type liquid which stops the calf mix making the cows cough.
I tasted the molasses it was very sweet.
There are very strict guidelines about what a cow can be fed.
