Quality Scout profiles
Adrian Ivory
From Meigle in Perthshire, a beef farmer renowned for his pedigree cattle.
What made you want to be a scout with clout?
As a beef farmer, I work with produce every day and so I was interested to see first-hand the process involved once the beef leaves my farm, and dispel any myths associated with the beef that is used at McDonald’s.
What are you hoping to find out?
My main objective is to dispel the myths surrounding beef and McDonald’s. However, I am also interested in seeing how the meat is handled. On the farm we treat the beef with a lot of care and attention and I’m keen to see if this is the same throughout the rest of the process.
Anything else you'd like to add?
Being involved in one stage of the chain, I think it’s great to have the opportunity to see the full process first-hand. And most importantly, I’m interested to see how the beef tastes compared to how I think it’s going to taste.
