- 1. Who's ridiculous idea was it to make an "MC Kids" game for the Nintendo Entertainment Console? That game was terrible! Oh, no! A McFlurry Man! He's badass!
-
M.C. Kids, or McDonald Land, was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System by Virgin Interactive during 1991 in Europe and in the States in 1992. As you're obviously aware from the question, the game was loosely based on the McDonald's fast food franchise and featured two teenagers who venture into the McDonald's fantasy world in order to return Ronald McDonald's magical bag, which had been stolen by the Hamburglar.

Is it true that Hitler's last meal in his bunker consisted of Chicken McNuggets, medium fries and a large Fanta and that, having tasted the McNuggets, made the historical choice to shoot himself, thereby changing the tide of the war and so the history of the world?
-
No, this is not true.

-
At the moment, McDonald's UK lacks the necessary infrastructure in its supply chain to guarantee the requirements of Halal. However, it is something the company is currently looking into. So neither the donuts nor Fanta are Halal. McDonald's Chocolate Donuts are suitable for vegetarians but Fanta is not, due to the fish oil used as a carrier for the orange colour.
JUNE '07 UPDATE: McDonald's trials Halal chicken at a restaurant in Southall, London.
SEPTEMBER '09 TRIAL RESULT: McDonald’s began this trial because we wanted to assess customer demand for certified Halal food in our UK restaurants. We have learnt that Halal is only popular with a very small percentage of our customers and to offer it we would need to make significant changes to our kitchen procedures and supply chain. Given this, we have decided that we are not currently in a position to roll out Halal food in the UK.

The Fanta is not classified as Halal due to the fish oil used as a carrier for the orange colour.

Thanks for your comments. Currently, McDonald's is conducting in-depth consumer research around the country to fully understand customer views of the Halal trial that is currently taking place in Southall, London. However, it is too early to determine if the trial will expand in range or location. (November 2007)

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 7. Can you please explain why the following are not suitable for vegetarians? Filet-o-fish, fish fingers, smarties mc flurry, fanta orange. A lot of people are asking questions regarding these, and a lot of the Muslim community are avoiding eating these. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
-
Whilst the Filet-o-Fish and Fish Fingers do not contain any animal flesh or by-product there is a very small possibility that the vegetable cooking oil used may be mixed with vegetable cooking oil used to cook chicken products during the oil filtration process.
There are two different methods for filtering frying oils across McDonald's restaurants: the first utilises self-filtering vats fitted in its kitchens and the oil from each frying station is filtered into a separate container. So French Fry oil goes into one container, with Veggie Patty, Filet-o-Fish, chicken menu items and Apple Pies into another. If the restaurant does not have self filtering vats the second method is used whereby the oil is filtered into one container but in a specific order. So the French Fries fryer is filtered first, followed by the Veggie Deluxe fryer, the Apple Pies fryer, the chicken fryer and then the Filet-o-Fish fryer. At the end of the filtering session, the machine is cleaned ready for the next day’s operation. McDonald's considers it a personal choice as to whether a vegetarian eats fish or not.
Fanta is not suitable for vegetarians due to the fish oil used as a carrier for the orange colour. This applies to all Fanta not just that supplied to McDonald's.
With regards to the Nestle Smarties McFlurry, the red Smarties contain E120 cochineal, a natural colour sourced from the cochineal beetle, making them unsuitable for vegetarians or anyone concerned about products of animal origin. If you would like to see a full list of ingredients for all food and drink sold in McDonald's restaurants, please visit www.mcdonalds.co.uk.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 8. Please will you consider having Dr Pepper in UK McDonalds? Although I love root beer, Dr Pepper is nothing like it, and is far more popular in the UK than root beer is/was. It's okay saying there's Tropicana and stuff and thus "more choice than ever!!" etc, but a new fizzy drink would be nice. EVERYWHERE does the standard Coke/Sprite/Fanta combo, if you had Dr Pepper it'd be really really popular, it could replace Diet Coke, which is the same as Coke Zero.
-
Unfortunately McDonald's doesn't have any plans to introduced Dr Pepper onto it's menu.
However if you feel strongly about seeing Dr. Pepper on the UK menu, please contact the Customer Service Team by using the 'Contact Us' link at www.mcdonalds.co.uk or by calling the helpline on 08705 244622 - the team is always keen to hear your suggestions.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 9. Hello, McDonald's Seriously needs to increase pay for every employee, this is why you are regarded as a dead end, LOW PAY job because employee's do not feel appreciated and therefore do not work hard, in comparison to other business e.g. Wagmana (Starting wage - £5.73), TGI Fridays (starting wage - £5.40) Saying you have a competitive wage is a total lie , you need to restructure the pay rates in order to be regarded a competitive pay job Thank You.
-
The rate for employees aged 16-17 begins at £4 per hour; for 18 -21 it begins at £4.25 per hour and for 22 and over it is £5.05 per hour. It should be noted that these are entry rates and successful staff receive a pay increase after a three week probation period. However these pay rates do not begin to tell the whole story.
There are many benefits in place for hourly paid staff, including a free meal allowance, four weeks paid holiday per annum, free life assurance, private health care (after a qualifying period), an employee discount card and a length of service awards scheme. McDonald's also has employee recognition awards such as employee of the month, quarter and year in many restaurants. You can see them in the posted in participating restaurants.
It should also be pointed out that McDonald's and its staff would disagree with your perception about working life at McDonald's. A McJob is a very challenging career that can lead to many rewards. Like other jobs, there are moments that are quieter than others and McDonald's is no different. However, the quick service industry is a high pressure environment, and with approximately two million customers served daily at McDonald's restaurants in the UK, it takes an exceptional temperament and skill to be able to constantly keep up high standards of food preparation, quality and service that the McDonald's staff do. Under such conditions McDonald's staff do a fantastic job. Such consistency provides personal satisfaction for many employees and is something that stays with them and encourages employees to explore and expand their career with the company. And it's not just the experienced that embrace the challenge of working at McDonald's. McDonald's is often the first job for young students, with many of them staying on and growing a career. 80 percent of McDonald's restaurant management started out as hourly paid crew members and one in five franchisees started as crew. McDonald's spends millions on training and supporting its staff. Each year 12,000 people will pass through McDonald's management training centres and 30,000 employees will receive hospitality training across the country, developing employee skills and boosting their confidence. This training works in conjunction with 'Our Lounge' which was launched in 2006. This enables 67,000 UK staff to log on to ourlounge.co.uk and get support and guidance to plug their skills gaps with an online tutor. Staff can then gain nationally recognised Level 1 and 2 qualifications in accredited exam centre restaurants. This commitment to excellence has seen McDonald's recognised by the Financial Times and The Times as one of the top places to work.

How can you say that you take allergies seriously when you clearly don't provide a selection of dairy free products, you can't have fish fingers twice and carbonated drinks!!! I want a dairy free McChicken sandwich gahdammit!!! (Excuse me pregnant women coming through)
-
Thank you for your question. Allergies are unfortunately becoming more and more prominent in modern diets; something that McDonald's is aware of and takes very seriously. However, there are still many items that you can enjoy such as the Hamburger (contains gluten), French Fries, Chicken Selects (contains gluten), Fish Fingers (contains gluten), Fruit Bags, Garden Side Salad, Hash Brown, Onion Rings, Apple Pie, Tropicana Fresh Orange Juice, Still Mineral Water, Coca Cola and Fanta. You can find allergen and other nutritional content information at http://www.mcdonalds.co.uk/food/ingredients/our-ingredients.mcd

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 11. According to your nutrition breakdown (print: October 2008) Spicy Veggie, sour cream and chive dip, apple pie and Fanta orange are not suitable for the vegetarians. As far as I know Fanta is not coz it has fish oil, sour cream and chive has eggs and milk. (Which is ok for Muslims) But can you please tell me why spicy veggie and apple pie are not suitable for vegetarians? can you please also tell me if they are not suitable for vegetarians coz of fish, eggs or milk links?
-
Thank you for your question. As you mention Fanta is not suitable for vegetarians as it contains Beta Carotene, which is carried on fish oils. The Sour Cream & Chive Dip is not suitable for vegetarians as it contains natural yoghurt, which contains rennet, and our supplier cannot guarantee that the milk protein (derived from whey) does not contain traces of animal rennet. With regards to the Spicy Veggie Patty and the Apple Pie, neither contain any ingredients derived from animals and are fried in a non-hydrogenated vegetable oil. However, due to the design of the oil filtration system, there is a small chance the oil used to fry vegetable patties and the Apple Pies can come in contact with oil used to cook chicken and fish. McDonald’s UK therefore cannot guarantee cross-contamination will not occur.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 12. what ingredients are in the syrup that is added to carbonate the drinks in the dispense. if there is any sugar in this syrup then surely you can not trade coke zero as being sugar free which would therefore inflinge trading standard descriptions.
-
Thank you for your question. All McDonald’s restaurants serve a variety of carbonated drinks including Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite Zero and Fanta. The restaurants all operate a drinks system that keeps each flavour completely separate. Each drink has a sealed line running all the way from the drinks machine to the nozzle of the drinks tower. There is therefore no way that flavours or sugared and non-sugared drinks can be mixed.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 13. why dont you just use normal coke instead of syrup and water which tastes like rubbish?
-
The carbonated soft drinks in the restaurants, such as Coca Cola, are all freshly made to order. The machines contain the constituent ingredients of syrup and carbonated water, which is blended once an order is taken. All the syrups for the carbonated drinks are supplied by Coca Cola including Coke, Diet Coke, Fanta and Sprite. All the drinks machines in McDonald’s are checked every week by the management teams to ensure the highest possible standard of product. The syrup is refilled frequently and the machines are regularly audited by Coca Cola.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 14. Without the use of corporate spin, could you explain to me why a Double Cheeseburger, small Fries and small carbonated drink costs more than a Big Mac(tm) Value meal (gone large!). Surely for those on a budget the so called "Poundsaver" menu is a bit of a con, or to coin a phrase "Bait and Switch".
-
Thank you for your question. McDonald’s believes that it offers tasty food at a reasonable price, representing fantastic value across the menu.
Extra Value Meals are meal deals offered when you buy a selected sandwich, a side order of either a Garden Salad or French Fries, and a drink. The McDonald's Saver Menu has a great selection of items that are not part of a meal, ranging in price from 69p upwards.
Generally, a Double Cheeseburger with Fries and a soft drink should not be more expensive than a large Extra Value Meal. However, pricing and menu items can vary between restaurants, depending on whether the restaurant is company owned or a franchise. If the restaurant is a franchise, specific prices of menu items are left to the discretion of the restaurant owner.
If you are not satisfied with an experience as a customer, please let the restaurant management know or contact Customer Services on 08705 244622 so that your complaint can be investigated.
