2. What is Grimace? Birdy is a bird, Ronald McDonald is clearly a clown, Hamburglar is obviously a thief, but what is Grimace supposed to be? He is a purple blob that doesn't resemble anything.

3. What happened to the Hamburglar? I miss him. Is he in jail, and if so, on what charges? Surely, hamburger heists must carry a limited maximum sentance - possibly only community service and/or a small fine - and I haven't seen him in ages.
No, the Hamburglar is not in prison. Ronald McDonald has four friends. Hamburglar, Grimace, Birdie and Mayor McCheese. In the UK Ronald is the only one who currently features in any adverts or marketing activities but Hamburglar can still be seen in other countries. (June 2007)

4. Why has the Hamburglar remained a feature of marketing campaigns in many other countries but not in Britain?
Firstly apologies for the delay in answering your question, the team has been very busy with all the questions that are pouring in and everybody is working hard to answer them all. Hamburgler, along with Grimace, Birdie and Mayor McCheese no longer feature in marketing activities in the UK, and there are currently no plans to re-introduce them. However, they can still be seen abroad in some countries. Meanwhile, Ronald McDonald is still McDonald’s chief happiness officer and has been the face of McDonald's since 1963. He is one of the most recognised characters in the world, and McDonald's hopes that this will carry on for a long time to come. It should be noted that all McDonald's characters are fictional, and there are currently no plans to replace Ronald McDonald as the Company Mascot. (Jan 2009)

5. Why is Mayor McCheese no longer in the media? I had heard that McDonalds dropped him due to a recent media scandal that revealed him to be a homosexual. Is this true? Does McDonalds condone the mistreatment of homosexuals? Just let him be who he is.
