McDonald’s has its own easy-read nutritional labelling on its packing as the company is aware of the importance to share this information with customer so that they can make better informed choices on what they eat. However, Weightwatchers is a brand in its own right, and as much as the company understand how some customers would appreciate it, McDonald’s can't put the Weightwatchers points system on McDonald’s packaging. What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 20. I have seen you now have the nutritional information of your products on their boxes. However you represent the various things, I am guessing such as fats or sugars with obscure symbols. I have not seen these before and they seem to make no sense why not just use easy to understand words, wouldn't that be better for your customers?

Firstly, many apologies for the very slow response to your question, as the site went through a few changes, some questions had slipped through the net, so thank you for your patience. In regards to your question, McDonald's has developed five icons that represent particular parts of nutritional information: Calories, Protein, Fat, Carbohydrates and Salt. Originally the icons were used so the packaging could be used in a number of different countries (i.e. to be non-language dependent). The key to these symbols can be found on the tray liner in stores and at www.mcdonaldsmenu.info. The website also provides two extra categories – Saturated Fats and Fibre – to provide a more in depth breakdown. You may be pleased to know that later this year the packaging used in the UK will be enhanced to include text next to the icons to make it clearer what the icons refer to.
