- 16. Is McDonalds planning to make a Point of Interest (PoI) file available for satellite navigation systems? Many organisations with large branch networks already make these available on their websites (Natwest and John Lewis being two examples) which help locate their branches on Tomtoms etc. Many thanks for your attention.

Thanks for raising an interesting question. McDonald's has no current plans for such a system. However, it is something that the company may take into consideration in the future.

Sorry but no, it will not be reopening as a McDonald's restaurant. The company no longer has any commercial interest in the unit and has returned ownership back to the landlord.

There are currently six planned closures for 2008, and no plans for new openings as yet.

The McDonald’s restaurants of Sutton in Ashfield and Mansfield cover the Shirebrook area at present, the drive thru's and instore all being within five miles. Unfortunately McDonald’s do not have any plans in the foreseeable future to open a drive thru restaurant in Shirebrook itself, sorry.

Sorry, bad news Gaz-currently there are no plans to open any restaurants in the Grassgroft area or bring a quiche burger to the menu; sorry if that spoils your day. However, there are some tasty salads on the menu that you can enjoy right now. You have the Garden Side Salad, Grilled Chicken and Bacon Salad, Crispy Chicken salad and Crispy Chicken and Bacon Salad.

McDonald’s is constantly reviewing its store portfolio measuring restaurants by their profitability, brand impact and customer satisfaction. Unfortunately the Upminster site no longer met the required levels for these measures, though it is good to hear that it was a much loved outlet.
The nearest store now to the old Upminster site is the Hornchurch store. The ‘Restaurant locator’ at www.mcdonalds.co.uk can assist you should you wish to find other stores local to this area.

Firstly McDonald's apologises for the slow reply to your question. Technical updates and changes to the site caused some questions to slip through, but we have the back now so thank you for your patience. McDonald’s has HACCP systems and documentation in all of its outlets in the UK and all the restaurants operate to the same high food safety standards. On another note, the company has not pursued ISO certification for the company or any of its restaurants. I would be interested to know if you belive your food would be a welcome addition to the volocoraptor's diet, I belive they would like the the Fillet O'Fish best, but wouldn't tell anyone, because the other dinosaurs would laugh at them.

An interesting idea, however, Jurassic Park is a work of fiction so it is highly unlikely that this will ever happen.

It opened on 7/10/1985 and closed 31/3/2007. The decision to close the restaurant was not taken lightly and only after a great deal of careful consideration. However, trading patterns have been affected by the changes that have occurred in the high street since 1985, and by the changes that have occurred in the Quick Service Restaurant sector, such as the emergence of Drive Thru restaurants. If you are looking for a McDonald’s within the area your nearest alternatives are in Longbridge and Redditch.
