There are many varied food safety checks, including: 24 refrigeration temperature measurements on different units and at different times of the day. three detailed checks a day following a list of cleaning tasks. eight equipment set-up checks on each of four grills (32 in total). four separate checks on product condition or shelf-life and seven checks on facilities and supplies for hand-washing, cleaning and temperature measurement. These checks are not carried out by a single person but by a team of trained managers throughout the day and evening.

McDonald’s aims to keep all restaurants as clean as possible at all times. There is a ‘clean as you go’ policy and tables and floors are wiped down throughout the day as required. In addition, a detailed clean of the whole restaurant is also carried out once it is closed. If the table that you wish to sit at has not been cleaned satisfactorily, please ask a member of staff to do this for you, or speak to the manager on duty.
