1. wouldnt it be more heathy to cook your food in 100% olive oil, i know this would cost extra, but wouldnt the public respect you more and buy more.
The issue of cooking oils is an ongoing project for McDonald’s, and finding alternatives is a priority for the company. The challenge is to reduce the various fat levels, but current alternatives sometimes give a reduction in one, but only by increasing others. McDonald’s also needs to make sure that the overall taste of its products does not change. The main problem with olive oil is that it would completely change the flavour of the food. However, recent McDonald’s research with new oils has been extremely encouraging, and the company is hoping this could provide an answer to both the trans and saturated fat levels in the very near future. It does, of course, depend on crop harvests to provide a sufficient volume of oil for restaurants to use. The company is working to make these changes as soon as it can. FEBRUARY '08 UPDATE: McDonald’s UK now do not use any hydrogenated oil in any food items across the entire menu.

4. My friend refuses to go near McDonald's or this webpage. He thinks horrible things about your food and business that are not true. Help me convince him!
The aim of this website is to give people like your friend a chance to communicate directly with McDonald's. Lots of people have asked questions and McDonald's aims to answer them all frankly. If there's anything specific that's troubling you or your friend about the company or its food, please let us know. If it's solid proof your friend is after, then he or she should follow the Quality Scouts programme on this website. 7. In the past there has been a great deal of rumours regarding your staffs treatment of the customers returned food. Obviously you are not going to admit to people putting phloem into cold burgers before reheating them, but is this sort of treatment carefully inspected.
McDonald’s is not aware of any employees spitting in any of the food in the UK. If this were to happen any staff caught behaving in this way would be disciplined and dismissed.

8. why did i find hair in my burger
This shouldn’t have happened. McDonald’s staff members are instructed on when and how to use a hairnet if hair can’t be controlled by the hat. McDonald’s hopes that you immediately brought this to the manager’s attention.

10. Why do you keep the food on those hotplates? They're completely ineffective. I stopped eating at McDonald's because I got fed up of eating cold burgers.
The hotplates are designed to keep food warm for ten minutes, to help speed up service for customers. Food kept in this way is discarded after 10 minutes, and McDonald’s always aims to serve food hot. If you have been sold a cold burger, please speak to the restaurant manager on duty.

11. McDonalds restaurants all have a distinct plasticy smell, you always smell it before seeing it. Which of your ingredients or products causes this nasty smell? I have stopped eating McDonalds because of the smell, I can't believe that if it smells like that it can be real food.
A ‘plasticy’ aroma sounds like a matter of personal opinion. Certainly this is not something that McDonald’s is aware of.

12. Why was there a blister in my chicken burger? It popped in my mouth & has given me nighmares.
This sounds very much like an air pocket between the chicken and the batter. Very occasionally, a harmless pocket of warm air like this can expand during cooking, and then pop when the burger is eaten. While McDonald’s regrets any distress this might have caused, it is absolutely harmless. If you are in any way dissatisfied with McDonald’s food or service, please raise it with the restaurant manager or call the Customer Services Team on 08705 244 622.

13. why does your food taste like plastic and has no flavour........and why have your fillet of fish got smaller?
McDonald’s would disagree with the first part of your statement, and so would the millions of customers who enjoy its food every day. And McDonald’s sandwiches have remained the same size they have always been. In the case of the Filet-o-Fish, that’s 147g.

McDonald's doesn't agree that this is the case and neither do the millions of customers who enjoy eating McDonald's food everyday. High quality ingredients are always used and great care is taken to prepare the food which many people enjoy eating.
