Firstly McDonald's apologises unreservedly for the late reply to your question. There were some technical problems which caused some questions to slip through.
Regarding your question: It is important to note that the Police confirmed that incident in Brixton in September 2006 had nothing to do with McDonald's whatsoever, and in fact, could have taken place anywhere. It is not McDonald's place to comment on gang culture. The company doesn't believe that customers should be discouraged from visiting its restaurants as McDonald's prides itself on a family friendly atmosphere and does all it can to ensure this is so. There are security cameras in many restaurants which cover the public and the kitchen areas, and in some restaurants there are security staff posted at the doors at certain times of the day to maintain a family friendly environment.

Do you, as a huge corporation, realise how your buildings (which seem to be everywhere) turn the most culture enriched area into a garish eye-sore? The company takes a sensitive approach to new restaurant environments, working closely with planning and conservation officers to preserve buildings of architectural merit and to improve the townscape. McDonald’s has successfully integrated into many listed buildings and conservation areas including restaurants in Windsor, Cambridge, York and Fleet Street in London. In many towns, McDonald’s has invested considerable sums of money in restoring old buildings, often putting back architectural details that have been lost. McDonald’s restaurants are simply places where people can go to buy and eat a meal, and the McCafes are similar to coffee shops, serving coffee and a range of sandwiches, soft drinks, crisps and cakes. McDonald’s believes its food is of good quality and can be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet and active lifestyle.

McDonald’s will only open restaurants in a country if it believes that there is a demand from customers for its food. McDonald’s aims to make a positive contribution to every place in which it does business, whether by purchasing from local suppliers or by employing local people.

This is a standalone restaurant not integrated into the hospital.

Recently, McDonald’s has been concentrating on re-furbishing existing restaurants rather than building new ones. This year 80 stores have been re-developed. However plans for the future are to continue to open more restaurants. McDonald’s will look at Emersons Green as a possible opportunity along with many other potential sites.

This year McDonald’s has been concentrating on re-imaging existing restaurants rather than building new ones and 80 stores have been redeveloped. However plans for the future are to continue to open more restaurants. Along with many other potential sites McDonald’s will look at Elland as an opportunity as a place to build a new restaurant.
