261. Why is it that when current employees reach the age of 18, their pay doesnt increase to minimum wage? I know that this happens because i am an ex employee myself and this was the reason i quit.
In company restaurants there have been different rates of pay for under 18s and over 18s for the last five years. Once an employee reaches their eighteenth birthday, their rate of pay is automatically adjusted to the new minimum. However, some employees who are under 18 may have progressed to earn a higher rate than the standard over 18 rate. in these cases a pay rise will not be awarded following their eighteenth birthday. All McDonald’s rates of pay are higher than the minimum wage.

262. I worked for Mcdonald's restaurant for one years but we never had chance to have job rotation. Even in other restaurant we see that if an employee work in the kitchen he is trained there only except very few can work everywhere. Management don't differenciate between under 18 or over 18. i've seen employee at 16 years age forced to work 11 hours shift. this is not good and illegal
McDonald’s Crew Training Programme trains crew on all stations within 12 months, if they’re part-time. This is to ensure that full training and verification is given on each area before progressing. McDonald’s encourages crew to speak with their restaurant manager or HR department if they feel that they are not receiving job rotation or adequate training. With regard to under 18s working 11-hour shifts, this should not be the case as there are measures in place which alert restaurant managers and to prevent this from happening.
