- 46. hi. Why is the Strawberry milkshake not suitable for vegetarians??????? And more puzzling... Why are all the other flavours suitable. whats the difference?? and why does my milkshake contain meat??
-
McDonald's Strawberry Sundae used to contain E120 cochineal, which is a natural colour sourced from animals, making this unsuitable for vegetarians or those concerned about products of animal origin. But you will be happy to know that McDonald's no longer uses this ingredient. The colouring used is a beetroot juice concentrate (E162) which is a natural extract of beetroot which makes the Strawberry Sundae (As well as the Strawberry Milkshake) suitable for all for everybody to enjoy. There is no meat in the Milkshakes. You can find the ingredients for the Sundae and all McDonald's food items at www.mcdonalds.co.uk.

-
McDonald's can very confidently deny these rumours. The company takes great pride in sourcing high quality ingredients across all its menu items and strict hygiene procedures are always in place while the food is being prepared. With regards to the Coca-Cola, no McDonald's menu item is created to be addictive. In addition, all food served at McDonald's must comply with the strict quality standards and food safety laws for the UK and European Community. You can find out more about McDonald’s food ingredients at www.mcdonalds.co.uk. Just click on the 'Eat Smart' link, and navigate to the 'Ingredients List' and click. You will be taken to the ingredients page for all the food items on McDonald's menu.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 49. i have heard that your burgers are more healthy than you salad due to additives. please truthfully tell me.
-
Many nutritionists agree that individual food items are neither ‘healthy’ nor ‘unhealthy’. A good diet is a matter of variation, moderation and balance, combined with physical activity.
There are no additives in the burger patties themselves - McDonald's only uses 100 percent pure beef. But, as you would expect with all similar products, it is the fillings, sauces and dressings that do have some additives. You can find a full list of the ingredients in McDonald’s food items in the ‘Ingredient List’ section, which can be found be clicking on ‘Eat Smart’ link at www.mcdonalds.co.uk.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 50. Why are there so many 'E' numbers (additives and preservatives) in your food. Looking at your listing of ingredients, many of these 'E' numbers can cause allergic reations
-
‘E Numbers’ are a necessary ingredient in many of the food items and used widely in many foods that you will find for sale in supermarkets, restaurants and elsewhere. You can find out more by looking at the current McDonald's tray liners in all restaurants and the nutritional information online at www.mcdonalds.co.uk in the ‘Nutrition Counter’ section of ‘Eat Smart’ will list not just the full ingredients but also the tolerance to certain allergies. If you have any further concerns about allergies in general, you can contact the Anaphylaxis Campaign on www.anaphylaxix.org.uk.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 51. Why do you use a recombinant bovine growth hormone in you dairy products around the world (excluding Europe where it has been banned) when it causes multiple types of cancer in humans?
-
All hormones, including recombinant bovine growth hormone, are strictly forbidden by the requirements of McDonald’s Agriculture Assurance Programme (MAAP), which is a set of McDonald’s Europe standards. As you rightly say, the use of hormones is forbidden in cattle feed throughout the UK and Europe and all farms are required to keep an up-to-date record of what their cattle have been fed over the past three years. These standards will also be in place for any ingredients that might be imported from elsewhere in the world at times when demand exceeds local supply limits. This is not true of other countries around the world albeit that the company principle remains the same: to meet and exceed legislation in all areas. But McDonald’s global is reviewing the standards across the world and a copy of the current standards can be viewed at www.mcdonalds.com

-
McDonald's takes the issue of food allergies very seriously and is constantly revising its menu to ensure dietary needs and requirements are catered for as far as possible. McDonald’s has specifically focused on the Happy Meal menu recently, and is pleased to say that none of the Happy Meal items contains artificial colours.

-
There are no more chemicals in McDonald's food than you would find in similar food from your local supermarket. Some ingredients, such as the beef, are 100 percent additive free. In others, certain preservatives, emulsifiers or stabilisers are added - such as in the sauces.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 57. I see that a lot of people have reported feeling sick after eating McDonalds food and that your answer has been that your food contains nothing that should make a healthy person sick. As food intollerance is a very complex subject would it not be responsible to advise people to avoid any food that makes them feel sick, McDonalds or otherwise?
-
McDonald's agrees that the area of food intolerances and allergies is a highly complex one. Where people have asked a specific question about a certain ingredient or health concern, such as gluten, then the answer posted has clearly stated which menu items are appropriate (or inappropriate). All such questions also direct people to the full ingredients list which can be found at www.mcdonaldsmenu.info and on the back of all trayliners in restaurant. But in terms of more general questions about the food and its effect on an individual, if the consumer has no known allergies or food intolerances and eats a full gamet of food ingredients purchased elsewhere, there is nothing in McDonald's food that should make this individual feel sick, again as stated. What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 59. are you concerned about some of the questions you have been asked by the general public? if they think you use excrement and insects in your food and that it makes them ill, how does this reflect on the companies image?
-
McDonald's is very surprised with all the questions and doubt regarding the beef that it uses. All McDonald's hamburgers are made of beef. Nothing else. Just 100 percent beef, made from whole cuts of forequarter and flank (similar to the mince you'd buy in the supermarket). All that's added is a pinch of salt and pepper after cooking.
McDonald's recognises that it has to do a better job in the UK to help people understand its values; the way the company does business and how it produces the food and drink it sells. This is why McDonald's is giving people the opportunity to ask questions on this website and has set up the Quality Scouts programme.
