Why is it that on mainland Europe (Holland, Belgium) I can get little sachets of Mayonnaise to put on my Fries but in the UK there is only the choice of Tomato Ketchup? Surely it wouldn't be too much extra for McD to add this to your assortment?

Thanks for your question. Currently there are no plans to sell the BBQ sauce at any retail outlets across the UK.

No, the ketchup that McDonald's use is the same Heinz Ketchup that is available to purchase in supermarkets.

No, not all the sauces and dips are free. This is due to the fact that a number of McDonald's restaurants in the UK are run by franchisees. Some franchisees make a small charge for sauce sachets. Many restaurants do not, however.

Thanks for your comment. Depending on which restaurant you are eating at, the ketchup will either be available to dispense yourself, or in sachets for you to take, otherwise you may have to ask at the till at the time of ordering. Please note, in some franchises, there may be a small fee for the ketchup. (May 2007)
