McDonald's menu caters to as many tastes and dietary requirements as possible. While the Veggie Deluxe is the only veggie burger, it remains a very popular item in selected restaurants, and there are other vegetarian options such as the Grilled Veggie Melt. McDonald's doesn't use soya milk – at present as there simply isn't the demand for it.

McDonald's always tries to remain contemporary and keep up with its customers' needs and expectations. The company also aims to provide plenty of choice and variety on the menu. Recent product changes have come as a result of listening to customers and McDonald's will continue to look for further opportunities to add more choice.

McDonald's is primarily a burger restaurant and most of its customers come to enjoy its beef, chicken, fish and other meat products. But McDonald's also offers a wide range of menu options to suit most tastes and dietary requirements. There are a number of vegetarian options including the Veggie Deluxe burger, the Grilled Veggie Melt Toasted Deli Sandwich, the Garden Salad, and of course the French Fries.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 50. After looking at your website and looking through the questions. I have found no vegetarian burgers. That is pathetic. You must admit. I have read that you said meat is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Uh excuse me, don't shove your opinions down the general public's throat. 80% if not more of your menu is MEAT. Where are the vegetables? And really, if you are planning vegetarian meals, please tell me what you have in mind. Get some ressponsability for god's sake.

McDonald’s is, and will remain, a burger restaurant first and foremost and therefore, the majority of its menu will concentrate on meat. However, it also believes in offering choice. That’s why the Grilled Veggie Melt is available nationwide and the Veggie Deluxe is sold in over 300 restaurants in the UK where demand is high. McDonald’s is not trying to force its opinions on the public - everyone has the right to choose what they like and don’t like. All McDonald’s can and should do is offer straight facts about its business and you can be assured that every decision is taken seriously and responsibly.

McDonald's did serve a Quorn-style sandwich a while back and it didn't prove very popular at the time. So there are no current plans to re-instate it on the main menu.

When she asked why she was told 'McDonalds does not wish to cater for vegitarian children' by the Girl on the counter - why will you not serve vegitarian children?

McDonald's is sorry to hear that your daughter was treated in a dismissive manner by a member of staff. A vegetarian entree within the Happy Meal combinations has been trialled in the past but did not prove popular. But the company continues to develop new product ideas for the Happy Meal including new vegetarian sides and will always listen to what customers want, so this could very well change in the future.

All the McDonald's Milkshakes are now suitable for vegetarians. This is because the company no longer uses E120 cochineal as a colouring in their Strawberry Milkshakes. The new colouring is a beetroot juice concentrate (E162) which is a natural extract of beetroot. However, Fanta is not suitable for vegetarians because it contains fish oil that is used as a carrier for the orange colour. (June 2007)

Taking your questions in order:
The Veggie Deluxe Burger is still available in restaurants where the demand level justifies it. If your local restaurant isn't one, then you might like to try the new Spicy Veggie Toasted Deli sandwich.
A vegetarian Happy Meal has been trialled before but didn't prove popular at the time. However, a new trial is underway that does include some additional fruit, vegetable and side choices that are vegetarian. And the company will continue to monitor the consumers' desire for a vegetarian main.
And finally, there is no reason why you should receive luke-warm Fries. There is a very strict cooking and standing time procedure in place in every restaurant that should ensure that Fries are always served piping hot. McDonald's hopes that you brought this is to the restaurant manager's attention at the time and your Fries were immediately replaced. If this isn't the case, please contact the Customer Services team on 08705 244622 so that this can be investigated fully . (June 2007)

Sorry to hear that you don't feel that the vegetarian options at McDonald's are up to scratch. A number of people via this site have asked for greater vegetarian options and the company is constantly reviewing its menu range in order to add more choice and variety for all its customers.

McDonald's menu has a good variety of food items that are suitable for vegetarians, including the French Fries - which are cooked in 100 percent vegetable oil. The Grilled Veggie Melt Toasted Deli Sandwich is approved by the Vegetarian Society. There's a full list of which of McDonald's products are vegetarian-friendly on the back of every tray liner.

Some of McDonald's menu items are suitable for vegetarians. The menu now offers the Grilled Veggie Melt Toasted Deli Sandwich, salads and other items such as Carrot Sticks. The French Fries and Hash Browns are also suitable for vegetarians.
