- 31. I’ve seen this ‘Simple Facts about our food leaflet’. Why did you feel the need to make this booklet?
-
People are more interested than ever before in the food they’re buying and where it comes from, and McDonald's has a really positive story to tell. So the company felt it was important to share that with its customers, and McDonald's think they’ll be pleasantly surprised about what they read. It’s as simple as that. McDonald's has also been talking about the quality of the ingredients in its advertising campaigns.

-
It is not for McDonald’s to tell people what to eat. McDonald’s offers choice and variety on the menu, accompanied by complete nutritional information so that customers can make the choices that are right for them. In addition, McDonald’s works hard to promote the benefits of a balanced, active lifestyle - such as the Community Football Programme. If you are interested in finding out more you can obtain the McDonald's Corporate Responsibility Report from the Customer Services team on 08705 244622.

-
This is a good question. McDonald’s can’t claim to know the answer because these things come down to individual choice. McDonald’s can only make every effort to provide its customers with comprehensive nutritional information, both in its restaurants and online at www.mcdonaldsmenu.info.

Do you think that this is healthy, and if not, what is the maximum number of burgers/fries that a child should eat in a week?
-
McDonald’s regards diet as an individual choice. What and when people eat depends on lots of factors and it would be wrong to prescribe how often people should eat McDonald’s food. People should enjoy McDonald’s as part of a varied and balanced diet.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 40. Why is it only now that you have decided to make add more healthy options to your menu? Is it because there was the documentary about eating MacDonalds for 30 days has a massive impact on your health or the Jamie Oliver programme on school dinners. Both programmes have highlighted the poor food qualities that children have been offered for too long for the sake of making a larger profit. I can almost guarantee that you would not have changed the menus if your profits had not been so badly hit as a direct result of everyone becoming more aware of your love for money rather than other peoples health. I think that big companies like yourselves have been getting away with murder for too long and it is about time that people stood up to the large companies in the world that think they have a monopoly. I for one used to love MacDonalds as a child but know I am old enough to know what rubbish goes into the food I can honestly say that I will never walk into a restaurant again.

McDonald’s changes its menu to meet the changing tastes of its customers and doesn’t agree with your views that the food is rubbish. If you are interested in finding out where the food really comes from why not follow the Quality Scouts programme on this website?

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 41. How can Mcdonald's incorportate more healthy foods into the menu?
-
McDonald's aims to provide plenty of choice and variety on the menu. Indeed, over the past few years, salads and fruit bags have been added to the menu. All of these have been added as the result of listening to customers and McDonald’s will continue to listen and look for further opportunities to add more choice.
