- 376. Why do McDonalds put so much pepper on their burgers?. Twice I have had to take a burger back because it was caked in pepper, and I like pepper.

Thank you for your question. We are sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with your burger. The salt and pepper used to flavour the burgers are added using a dispenser similar to a salt cellar. However, the easiest explanation of the amount added is a 'pinch' of each: specifically, the equivalent of the amount that can be held between the thumb and forefinger.

We have not been presented with any facts, so we are unable say if this story is scientifically correct or not. However, reading what's been written there does seem to be questions regarding its credibility. In any case, lack of moisture would easily account for mould not appearing. For example, if you keep flowers in water they get mouldy and decay quickly. However, if you put them in a dry place like an airing cupboard they will show no signs of decomposition and last forever.

All ingredients in the Vegetable Deluxe and Spicy Veggie Deli are suitable for vegetarians (i.e. contain no ingredients of animal origin). The vegetable patty is cooked in a dedicated vat using a non hydrogenated blend of rapeseed and sunflower oil (which is suitable for vegetarians).
However, due to the design of the oil filtration system there is a small chance the oil used to fry vegetable patties can become in contact with oil used to cook chicken and fish products during the oil filtering process. We therefore cannot guarantee cross-contamination will not occur.
McDonald's French Fries have been officially accredited by the Vegetarian Society. This is because they are cooked in dedicated frying vats, with a completely separate filtering unit.

Whilst we appreciate there is no legal obligation to print bank details on payslips we know that many of our employees find this information useful as a check that payment has been made to the correct bank account. Our payslips are pressure sealed documents that are handed directly to the employee; we therefore believe we are acting appropriately to protect this data.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 382. Hi I'd like to know if you employ people with past criminal records? This is because many people have committed offences in the past but then they are trying to move forward and start a new life for example a crime somebody commited at the age of 18 would still afect their application at the age of 25. Would McDonalds give them a job or refuse the application as soon as they see the criminal offence box ticked?

Thank you for your question. McDonald's UK employs suitable people. These people may have had a previous conviction for a criminal offence. McDonald's is an employer with a strong equal opportunity background and is currently working with Jobcentre Plus to get the long-term unemployed back into the workplace.

Thank you for your question. Extensive research has shown that the majority of McDonald's consumers prefer a light sprinkling of salt on their French Fries. However, as you rightly mention if you would like your fries unsalted simply ask the crew member when you order your food and this can be arranged for you.

No, none of the items on McDonald’s menu are classified as Halal. Today, McDonald's UK lacks the necessary infrastructure in its supply chain to guarantee the requirements of Halal.

I realise it will be costly but I am sure the money will get ploughed back in as I feel that a lot of Muslims who want to eat fish are unable to as almost all of your restaurants use manual oil filtering system which causes contamination. Please can you look into this as this is proving to be a very big problem for us? Thank you

Thank you for your question. This is an issue which McDonald’s UK are currently looking into. This is however a very tricky matter as nearly all filtering systems carries a risk of cross contamination as all the oil drains down the same pipes to get filtered before being pumped back into the Vats.
