- 1. where do you get your chicken nuggets from can you buy them anywhere?
-
Thank you for your question. The only meat used in McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets is carefully deboned chicken breast. Once this fresh meat arrives at the supplier, it is turned into frozen, packaged McNuggets within 24 hours. The meat is checked when it first arrives. If it passes the required checks, it is used by the supplier for making the Chicken McNuggets. The breast meat is blended with other ingredients - water, potato starch, rapeseed oil, natural chicken stock and salt. The blended meat is then put into the shaping machine. This is where it is made into Chicken McNuggets. Now they're ready for the next stage - the cooking. The Chicken McNuggets are lightly and evenly dusted in flour. They are fully cooked before being covered in breadcrumbs and finally battered (the batter is freshly made on the premises and is stringently checked before being used). Each batch is thoroughly checked again before the Chicken McNuggets are fried in vegetable oil. After flash freezing, batches of 50 Chicken McNuggets are then placed into plastic bags and sealed. The bags are put into boxes. The boxes are weighed twice, tested and tested again before being loaded onto pallets for delivery to a distribution centre. From there, they're dispatched to McDonald's restaurants where you can purchase them.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 2. hello, how many chickens are killed a year in the uk to make chicken nuggets???
-
Thank you for your question. To give a rough estimate, McDonald's UK use breast meat from the equivalent to 27 million birds for all of its chicken products. McDonald’s only use high quality chicken breast meat in Chicken McNuggets, with none of the dark meat (such as the thighs, drumstick and skin) used. This means that from every chicken, only the best parts will be used in Chicken McNuggets. Additionally Chicken McNuggets will probably be made from the meat from more than one animal, in a similar way to how a carton of orange juice contains more than one orange. What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 3. A friend and I were having a discussion, and we were wondering, how come whenever we order a 6-piece box of Chicken McNuggets, there are never 5 or 7 pieces? Is someone in the restaurant counting the number of pieces that go into the box? Are the packs pre-counted by a McNugget Machine back at a packing plant? How does this work? Thanks! Kiana
-
Thank you for your question. McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets are made from deboned chicken breast meat, which is then minced. The minced chicken meat is shaped into McNuggets and coated with the specially seasoned batter, flash fried and frozen. The McNuggets are supplied to the restaurants frozen, and then cooked from frozen in a non-hydrogenated blend of sunflower and rapeseed oil at the restaurant. Once cooked, they are then carefully packaged into boxes of either 6 or 9 and then served for you to enjoy.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 4. hello, i have been debating with my friends if the delicious chicken nuggets are processed. I am convinced they are not but with all the programs that have come out about how bad mc donalds or so they say they are convinced the chicken nuggets are processed. Please tell me the answer to this long ongoing debate. Also just a random question how much protein and carbs are in one nugget? Thanks
-
Thank you for your question. McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets are made from carefully deboned chicken breast meat. The meat is marinated, minced and formed into their distinctive nugget shape. They are then coated in a specially seasoned batter. In response to your second question, there are 14g of protein and 20g of carbohydrates in a box of six Chicken McNuggets. A full list of ingredients for all McDonald’s menu items is available at www.mcdonalds.co.uk, just click on the 'Food' section and go to 'Ingredients'.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 5. Is it true that you illegally employ oompah-lumpahs to make your milkshakes, and that you have tried to genetically splice a chicken with a cow in order to produce cheaper McNuggets?
-
It's an interesting idea, but due to the fact that Oompa-Loompas are imaginary characters from a work of fiction it is also highly unlikely. What is true is that McDonald's milkshakes are made from around 75 per cent milk sourced from the British Isles, with the remaining 25 per cent made from additional ingredients that ensure the milkshakes remain fresh, and then their particular flavours. They are made up in a milkshake machine that refrigerates the mixture to a certain temperature, where the sugar combines with the ice particles in the milk to naturally thicken the mixture. The machine also keeps the mixture constantly moving so that the air can thicken the consistency.
In regard to the second part of your question, there is no truth to this rumour. The only meat in McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets is white chicken breast meat. What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 6. do you not think that it is misleading to young children, by shaping the chicken nuggets in the shape of a ball, bell, bone and a boot, when that has nothing to do with a chicken or what it looks like?
-
There is no intention to mislead children, parents or anybody. Not many people new what the shapes represented and thought that they were random until McDonald’s spoke about them. The shape of the Chicken McNuggets is to make it easier for children, and any other person enjoying them, to consume and perhaps dip into their desired sauce.

Firstly apologies for the delay in answering your question, the team has been very busy with all the questions that are pouring in and everybody is working hard to answer them all.
McDonald's would not feel it appropriate to provide an answer to such a philosophical question, although the company does believe that the Chicken McNuggets make a tasty meal.

Firstly apologies for the delay in answering your question, the team has been very busy with all the questions that are pouring in and everybody is working hard to answer them all.
McDonald's expects to make approximately 50 chicken nuggets from every chicken, however, it is difficult to give a precise figure as McDonald’s only use high quality chicken breast meat in Chicken McNuggets, with none of the dark meat (such as the thighs, drumstick and skin) used. This means that from every chicken, only the best parts will be used in Chicken McNuggets. What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 10. What is in the batter on your Chicken McNuggets? How is it made? All I can find is that it is a "specially seasoned coating".
-
Thank you for your question. The batter used for the Chicken McNuggets is, as you correctly point out, a specially seasoned batter. However because the type of coating used is part of the trademark taste of McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets, the exact composition is a well-kept secret.
You can find out the ingredients used in the batter by visiting the ‘Eat Smart’ section of www.mcdonalds.co.uk and clicking on 'Ingredients List'.

Firstly apologies for the delay in answering your question, the team has been very busy with all the questions that are pouring in and everybody is working hard to answer them all.
The batter used in McDonald’s chicken products varies depending on the food item. For example the Chicken McNuggets have a specially seasoned batter whilst the Chicken Selects are coated in a seasoned flour breadcrumb. All the different types of coating used are part of the trademark taste of McDonald’s chicken products, and as a result the exact composition is a well-kept secret. However you can find out the ingredients by visiting the ‘Eat Smart’ section of www.mcdonalds.co.uk where you can find the ‘Ingredients List’. We hope that helps you in your efforts to make chicken batter.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 13. wat sort of chicken is in the nuggets as it cant be real chicken breast wat part of the body does it come from n wat part of the body is the pork in the deli
-
The only meat used in McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets is carefully deboned chicken breast. There are no extra nasty bits. Once made, they are coated with a specially seasoned batter. Originally the Chicken McNuggets were made from both dark and white meat. The dark meat consisted of the thighs, skin and drumstick as well as the breast, the same composition as if you were to have a roast chicken for a meal at home. However, after extensive research and feedback from customers, it was clear that they only wanted 100 percent breast meat in the nuggets, and McDonald's have been doing so since. If you would like to reassure yourself about how the Chicken McNuggets are made then take a look at the recent independent Quality Scout report. Just click on the 'Quality Scout' link on this site to find out more. In the case of the pork, McDonald’s uses prime cuts of trimmed, cured and sliced pork belly for its pork food items.

Chicken McNuggets are made from deboned chicken breast meat, which is then minced. A flavoured marinade is then added and mixed in. The minced chicken meat is shaped into McNuggets and coated with the specially seasoned batter, flash fried and frozen. The McNuggets are supplied to the restaurants frozen, and then cooked from frozen in a new non-hydrogenated blend of sunflower and rapeseed oil.
FEBRUARY '08 UPDATE: McDonald’s UK now do not use any hydrogenated oil in any food items across the entire menu
