1. how to make lachha coffee?
Firstly apologies for the delay in answering your question, the team has been very busy with all the questions that are pouring in and everybody is working hard to answer them all. If you are referring to a Latte coffee, then this is made in a traditional coffee machine installed in McDonald’s restaurants. The coffee is exclusively made for McDonald's by Kenco from freshly ground coffee beans that come from a sustainable source certified by the Rainforest Alliance. The Coffee beans in the coffee machines are changed at least every 24 hours. If you like to find out any nutritional information about the Latte or any other McDonald’s product please visit the ‘Eat Smart’ section of www.mcdonalds.co.uk where you can find the ‘Nutrition Counter’ and the ‘Ingredients List’. In addition you can find more information at www.mcdonaldsmenu.info or in restaurants on the back of tray liners. (November 2008)

2. Why are your coffee machines so unreliable? Why spend £££££'s on promoting freshly ground kenco coffee when the machines are not up to scratch and regularly breakdown? Do you think there is a fundamental issue here?
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, as with any kind of mechanical equipment, certain items may break down from time to time. McDonald's implements a comprehensive set of equipment checks to make sure its equipment is up and running for as much of the time as possible. If you find that it's happening on a regular basis at your local restaurant, please talk to the restaurant manager or phone Customer Services on 08705 244 622 so that they can look into it.

3. any chance of an option for 'skinny' lattes-made with skimmed milk? Thx
Thanks for your question, there are no current plans at the moment, however if there is enough demand for it then it is something that McDonald's would consider.

4. Why is that every time I buy a cappucino form the Lower Earley store, there is only ever haldf a cup of the actual drink..? No matter what size I buy it is always the same..Do the machines automatic have measuring devices..?
All the machines at McDonald’s are set to prepare a fixed amount for each drink. Restaurant staff cannot change any of these settings; this can only be done by the service company. As you probably know, cappuccino is made with hot, frothy milk which does settle and reduce in volume if mixed in or left to stand. This can make the drink appear smaller, but this is one of the characteristics of this type of coffee. (May 2008)

5. i have recently bought coffee from one of your stores. to my distaste, the aforesaid beverage was cold. Does the warning that the contents "may be hot" also cover the brand from complaints in case the coffee is not hot? i don't actually intend to complain, i'm just curious/amused at the idea of this website.
McDonald's apologises for your cold coffee and hopes that you brought it to the attention of the restaurant manager. In the future, if you are unhappy with your purchase please make the restaurant manager or crew member aware and a fresh order will be prepared for you. (February 2008)

6. Why do you insist on serving fresh roast bean coffee that is bitter. It's not nice, in fact it's so bad we've stopped having the cappuccino. It used to be a lovely smooth frothy coffee, now it's undrinkable. Why cant we just have normal nescafe coffee and cappuccino again.
McDonald's is sad to hear that you're not enjoying its coffee. The coffee used is a high quality, freshly ground Arabica coffee that is Kenco Rainforest Alliance certified. However, there are many things that can change in bean-to-cup coffee production. For example, the coffee machine, the other ingredients and the time of year can affect the taste. While the roasted coffee beans should be of a consistent flavour, the machines do occasionally require recalibrating and this could account for any inconsistency you’ve experienced. If you’re unhappy with a coffee, or any McDonald's item, please bring it to the attention of the staff or restaurant manager and they will deal with it immediately. If you wish to voice a complaint or make a comment on any aspect of the business, please go to the 'Contact Us' section of the main site at www.mcdonalds.co.uk. (September 2007)

7. Why do your staff rarely fill a hot beverage cup up to the line on the outside, it's always below, sometimes more than 5 mm below. I ask for it to be topped up and it's given back the same level as when i handed it to them.
Sorry about this. If it happens again, please speak to the restaurant manager, or failing that, please contact Customer Services team on 08705 244622 or visit the ‘Contact Us’ section on www.mcdonalds.co.uk. (September 2007)

8. I would like to buy McDonald's coffee for home use. Is there any way that I could do this? Who provides your coffee and what kind is it?
The coffee used in McDonald's UK restaurants is made exclusively for the company by Kenco from freshly ground coffee beans that come from a sustainable source as sanctioned by the Rainforest Alliance. Unfortunately, this coffee is not available for purchase in shops. (July 2007)
