- 1. i have a wheat and egg allergy, would i be alowed to bring my own bun with me, if not, could i order jus the burger without the bun and have it on its own?
-
McDonald’s apologises for the delay in answering your question. As the site went through some technical updates and changes, some of the questions slipped through. However, everything is functioning better and your question has now been answered – Thank you for you patience. There should be no problem ordering a burger without the bun. However, if you decide to bring in your own bun (which is not a problem either) it would be down to the discretion of the manager if you would like it toasted in the restaurant kitchen. If you are a visitor to a specific restaurant, it would be worth speaking to the restaurant manager to make him or her aware of your dietary needs. It is important to point out that the bun you bring in to be toasted will be prepared in the same toasters as the regular buns used by McDonald’s.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 3. Could you tell me how many burgers are cooked in the UK per day? Also, does this actually go up or down in winter? And is McDonalds looking at starting a BigMac soup with real chunks of pattie in each and every mouthful?
-
Firstly McDonald's apologises unreservedly for the late reply to your question. There were some technical problems which caused some questions to slip through.
Regarding your question; an interesting first question that unfortunately McDonald's can’t provide an answer to, as it is sensitive business information. However, the number of burgers sold varies each day and fluctuates depending on the time of year. For example, burger sales jump dramatically during the holidays. On average, McDonald’s serves a varied menu to two million customers per day. Regarding your second point, there are no plans to introduce a Big Mac Soup to the menu at the moment. But, if this is something you'd like to see of the menu, you can always make a suggestion to the Customer Service Team via the 'Contact Us' section at www.mcdonalds.co.uk. We suspect it could be difficult to capture the Big Mac's much-loved sauce in soup form...

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 4. Has the new healthy food range made an impact on the business, how and in what ways?
-
The impact of new items that have been added to the menu such as the Premium Salad range, Toasted Deli Sandwiches, Fruit Bags and Tropicana Orange Juice has been incredibly positive. Customers had expressed a need for new food items and McDonald's listened and responded to their suggestions. Not only have these items become fixtures on the menu, but their sales have been steadily rising, and they are fast becoming popular as primary menu choices. McDonald’s has sold over 21 million fruit bags since their launch and Orange Juice makes up around 40% of breakfast drinks sold. It is important to note that McDonald's didn't just stop at changing the menu. Joining the new items has been a major effort to improve the nutritional information available on all McDonald's food. Customers now have access to nutritional content on the web as well as on the reverse of trayliners in restaurants. If you log on to www.mcdonalds.co.uk, navigate to the 'Eat Smart' section and click on the 'Nutrition Counter', you can find nutritional information as well as ingredients for all food items on the menu. And for comprehensive nutritional information, including recommended GDA figures, log on to www.mcdonaldsmenu.info.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 5. Hello I have always ordered a burger and "extra pickle" at outlets in and around Newport (South Wales) at no extra charge. However I recently went to the Cwmbran outlet and was told "extra pickle" was chargeable. I did not want to argue so was charged an extra 30p. PLEASE CAN YOU LET ME KNOW WHAT IS THE OFFICIAL POLICY (if there was one ?) ON HAVING "EXTRA PICKLE" Ta Steve
-
However you like your food to be prepared, McDonald's staff will always try and accommodate. So if you want extra gherkins, ketchup or onions for that matter, it can all be arranged and usually at no extra costs. However, as there is no definitive policy on charges for this service, the decision to charge will be at the discretion of the restaurant manager.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 6. Whats On The Menu > Pound Saver menu Surely the pound saver menu should be consistent? My town has 'discontinued' items from it that I can still get in the next town's resturant, which is 10 miles away. Why is this? And why do they always seem to discontinue the items that I seem to like in my local resturant's pound sever menu?
-
McDonald's is sorry to hear of your frustration.
Pricing and menu items can vary between restaurants, mainly depending on whether the restaurant is company owned or a franchise. If the restaurant is a franchise, specific prices of menu items are left to the discretion of the restaurant owner.

-
Sorry to hear that you don't enjoy a Filet-o-Fish. However, the Big Tasty is a promotional burger and as such is available for limited periods only. But watch this space, as it could make a return to the menu in the near future.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 8. How often do YOU eat McDonalds? Or do you prefer a different place? Do you miss Wimpy? I do.
-
The members of the Make Up Your Own Mind team along with McDonald's staff are representative of the diversity of eating habits found across the country and as such many, if not all, of them enjoy McDonald's food as part of a normal, varied diet and lifestyle. In terms of Wimpy - the company does not comment on other companies, sorry. (August 2007)

-
Sorry to hear that you don't appear to enjoy McDonald's burgers. The company works hard to make two million customers a day happy with the food that it serves: all its menu items are made from the very best ingredients and prepared to exacting standards. To that end the company wants to make sure that all its customers enjoy its food - and suggests that consuming it leads to the most satisfaction and pleasure. (August 2007)

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 10. Why can I never get a plain hamburger? I like just the meat, nothing else on it, yet your employeers do not seem to understand this concept. One time I even repeated myself four times (the receipt said four times, PLAIN hamburger) yet it still had cheese! Is this some sort of conspiracy?
-
McDonald's apologises for the fact that your keep receiving an incorrect order. There is no reason why this should be the case; and certainly no conspiracy.
The staff are trained to repeat your order back to you to ensure that this does not happen. Your request for bespoke hamburger is a grill order and this information should be relayed to the manager who in turn tells the kitchen staff.
If this keeps happening, especially if in a specific restaurant, please let the Customer Services team know on 08705 244622 and they will look into the matter on your behalf. (June 2007)

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 11. Good afternoon Sir/ Madam. I would like to ask the 'terms and conditions' for grill orders, a couple of weeks back i visited your York branch and ordered a double cheeseburger. Im aware your tills contain 'grill' commands. I ordered a double cheeseburger but asked if i could have mayo instead of tomato and mustard. The first visit they complied with my request but on my last visit told me they would charge an extra 30p?. looking forward to your response. Tom.
-
Apologies for the discrepancy in the service between one visit and the next. As a general rule, where one sauce is exchanged for another this should be done without any extra charge; when additional items are added by request, a charge might be added but this is at the discretion of the manager. If you wish this matter to be investigated further, please contact that Customer Services team either by 'phone on 08705 244622.

-
The aims of McDonald's UK and US are the same. This is to provide quality, tasty food with quick friendly service in a pleasant and fun environment while being a socially responsible company and providing good returns to the shareholders. However, due to the different tastes, cultures and traditions between the two countries there are differences in areas such as menu and marketing.

-
Thank you for your interesting question. It is difficult to give you a precise answer as there is no overall record that is kept with these figures. However, to give you an idea, there are over 1200 McDonald's restaurants operating in the UK, serving approximately two million customers daily.

-
Some of the ingredients, including the burgers, are made to special recipes for McDonald’s. Selling them in supermarkets has been considered in the past, but the company decided against it. As a result they are exclusively available in restaurants.
