Currently, there are approximately 200 restaurants in the UK that accept payments by credit card. The company is piloting a new card paying system, and if successful, this will be rolled out to all McDonald’s UK restaurants in the near future.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 3. Why is it that McDonalds does not accept payment for goods, by Debit Card only Cash or "Cheque"? I was refused a sale due to having only my debit card on me, I would not have bothered if there was signs stating the mentioned above. One of the McDonalds managers, behind the counter I know very well personally offered to pay for the my meal but I replied Thank you for the offer but no thanks and walked out.

Your suggestion to have a sign stating that credit cards are not accepted is a valid one, and something the company will take on board. However, you might be interested to know that McDonald’s is currently rolling out credit / debit card machines across its stores and this should be completed by July 2007.

At the moment approximately 200 McDonald’s restaurants in the UK take credit cards. From October to December this year McDonald’s is piloting a new credit card solution which if successful will be rolled out to all UK restaurants in 2007.
