As a recognised leader in the quick service restaurant sector, McDonald's understands that there can be comments and issues raised that reflect negatively on the company. Unfortunately, careers at McDonald’s are often a subject that attracts these rumours, and the company has sometimes borne the brunt of prejudice about employment in the service sector. Yet as you have stated yourself, the reality is very different, as rich challenges and rewards can be found with a career at McDonald’s. A 'McJob' can provide real opportunities: 80 per cent of McDonald's restaurant management started out as hourly paid crew members and one in five franchisees started as crew. All McDonald's UK rates of pay are reviewed each year in the light of external market competitiveness, internal comparability and National Minimum Wage legislation. Other benefits for hourly staff include a free meal allowance, paid holiday (four weeks per annum), free life assurance, private health care (after qualifying period), an employee discount card and a length of service award scheme. McDonald's also have employee recognition awards such as employee of the month, quarter and year in many restaurants. In regards to your query on employment, you are most welcome to apply and McDonald’s is happy to hear of your interest in returning to the company. Please visit www.mcdonalds.co.uk and go to the 'Careers' section for more information on vacancies in your areas, as well as what the job involves.

McDonald’s has no problem with this as long as the employees in question do not let their relationship affect their ability to do the job asked of them whilst on duty. Generally this will be down to the discretion of the manager.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 224. Who is "teaching" the qualification equivalent to an A-Level? Does anyone have professional skills in teaching there? Aren't people going to get a certificate just for doing what they're told to do by a Manager? Is there going to be any use of a McCertificate outside a burger bar? Can you supply details of the syllabus?
-
McDonald's have recently attained Awarding Body Status; this means that the company can develop and award qualifications monitored by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). The first qualification that is being developing is based on a shift management training course which covers people management, health & safety, food safety, customer satisfaction and finance. The qualifications will be taught by experienced McDonald's staff, who are best placed to train restaurant managers in these qualifications which are based around running a successful restaurant business. The qualification managers will gain will be nationally recognised and be part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) and so will have value in the outside world as a Level 3 qualification in Hospitality and Catering. The training that a manager in McDonald's receives in order to gain this qualification is predominantly restaurant based and also incorporates workbooks, as well as formal, classroom based courses.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 225. How much does McDonalds pay per hour? I am guessing minimum wage!
-
All McDonald's UK rates of pay are reviewed each year in light of external market competitiveness, internal comparability and National Minimum Wage legislation. Like many other retailers, McDonald's pays a lower starting rate to crew members aged under 18. For 16 - 17 year olds working in McDonald's company owned restaurants, employees start on £4.25. 18 - 21 year olds in company owned restaurants start on £4.65 and 22 years and above start on £5.55. The pay rates may vary in franchised restaurants. Currently less than 17 percent of hourly paid employees are on national minimum wage. All hourly paid employees are appraised after their first three weeks, four months, six months and then annually. If they have been found to be hard working and enthusiastic staff members, then they are awarded a pay rise accordingly. McDonald’s has also featured in the 'The Times top 100 Graduate Employers' list for the last eight years, and recently won the 'FT Best Workplaces UK' award. The company is immensely proud of the commitment and effort its staff contributes every day to great food and great customer service.
