Thank you for your question. McDonald's UK has made a commitment to be open and transparent to its customers about our food and our business and the Make Up Your Mind site is part of that commitment, providing answers to the genuine misconceptions and concerns that customers make. We never make false claims about the dietary values of our food or about the work we do to make our company more environmentally friendly. The nutritional values for all our foods are clearly displayed on the back of our trayliners and via our website www.mcdonalds.co.uk to allow our customers to make informed choices that fit into their lifestyle. If you look at the government run Food Standards Agency website, you can find some details of our recent nutritional commitments, plus information about the extensive work undertaken already, which McDonald's hopes you'll find interesting reading. With an operation the scale of McDonald's it is hard to introduce menu changes 'overnight' but over the last 10-15 years there has been steady and significant moves to help make our menu fit in with customers' changing lifestyle requirements.
Likewise, you can look at our website to find more information about our environmental initiatives which form a core part of the McDonald's ethos of corporate responsibility. Recent highlights include the conversion of our transport fleet to bio-diesel and our undergoing composting trial to see if it is possible to compost packaging that is contaminated by food waste.
