Firstly apologies for the delay in answering your question, the team has been very busy with all the questions that are pouring in and everybody is working hard to answer them all.
In the UK we have been franchising from company owned restaurants to franchisees since 1986. This is part of a worldwide successful formula.

McDonald's UK restaurants are split fifty-fifty between those owned by the company, and others owned by franchisees. There are approx 250 franchisees who own 50% of the stores. You maybe interested to know that McDonald’s UK is owned by McDonald’s Inc in the Unites States, but neither own franchised stores.

The grand total is like GBP 72500. What would be the annual return or income based upon assumptions like high ,medium and low sales?

Firstly McDonald's apologies for the painfully slow reply to your question. As the site under goes periodical technical updates, some questions had got lost, only later to be found again. Not wanting to disappoint you, the team still answered your question. Thank you for your patience and feel free to post in any new questions.
The average build time is four to five weeks for a drive thru restaurant. However, McDonald’s did stage the building of a restaurant in 24hrs in 1998. This was in Runcorn, Cheshire during National Construction week.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 8. Hello, You state that over 70 per cent of the 30,000 restaurants in the UK are run by independent entrepreneurs. You also state in another answer that in the UK, McDonald’s and its franchisees employ around 67,000 people. After a few calculations I have come to the conclusion that on average each restaurant has 2.3 members of staff. This seems extremely low. Whenever I go into a McDonalds restaurant there seems to be plenty of staff. Which begs the question are they all legitimate?

McDonald's has over 30,000 restaurants across the world, operating in 100 countries. Over 1,225 of these are in the UK. There are approximately 55 members of staff per restaurant. McDonald's only hires staff that are legally permitted to work in the UK.
