- 1. hello i am doing a student project and i would appreciate it if you could tell me how much weight a mcdonalds happy meal box could take as well as what McDonald's is doing to help the environment and how it makes sure its happy meal toys are safe (guidlines).

Thank you for your question. You actually have the team at McDonald's a little stumped by this question for whilst we do have space restrictions on the toys, we don't have weight ones.
With regard to toy safety - McDonald's toys are manufactured according to the strictest safety regulations. In fact McDonald’s own safety regulations exceed national and international regulations for toy manufacture. The toys are made from a variety of materials and are suitable for children over the age of three. While most toys are not designed to be put in children’s mouths, they are all tested for toxicity and swallowing hazards, so with supervision there should be no danger from putting them in their mouths if they are over three years old.
In terms of our environmental impact, McDonald's recognises the need to protect and preserve the environment and has analysed every aspect of business in terms of impact on the environment. As a result of this, environmental action plans have been developed to address these impacts. Further information on McDonald's specific environmental programmes is available from www.mcdonalds.co.uk in the “Good Works” section, under “Our Environment.”

Firstly apologies for the delay in answering your question, the team has been very busy with all the questions that are pouring in and everybody is working hard to answer them all.
Mcdonald's serves approximately 2 million customers every day in the UK. That works out at roughly 1,000 customer visits to each store per day.

Igor is coming soon to the Happy Meal menu. Igor is the fantastic animated film following the adventures of Igor, a scientist’s assistant, as he competes in the Annual Evil Science Fair. McDonald’s has teamed up with Momentum Pictures to create a fun range of Happy Meal toys, featuring all of the main characters from the film. Each toy includes a min-booklet that explains the science behind it, along with fun things for kids to try at home’

Sorry to hear about your daughters disappointment on missing out on the full set of toys. McDonald’s always order equal amounts of each of the toys in a range, but when a certain promotion is especially popular, restaurants can run out of toys earlier than originally anticipated. McDonald's Customer Services hold a limited number of spare toys for recent promotions, so please contact them on 08705 244 622.

My son is anxiously waiting the release of these toys and finds its so disapointing each time we have a happy meal and they are still not out.

Please apologise to your son on behalf of McDonald's and let him know that the Star Wars: The Clone Wars Happy Meal will launch in the UK on the 17th September 2008.

The average McDonald’s UK restaurant sells 1,700 Happy Meals per week. That breaks down into around 242 Happy Meals sold per day. However the amount is likely to vary daily due to changeable sales trends.

Sorry about this. Within each Happy Meal, there is usually at least one new toy (sometimes several, depending on the number of toys in the range) each week. The restaurant receives the toys for one week and then gets deliveries for the next. So for example, in week one of a Happy Meal promotion, only the first week's toy(s) will be available, then in week two the week two toys are available - plus any left over from week one, and so on. If there is a specific toy in the range your children are hoping for, then your restaurant manager or customer care team representative will be able to advise you when the toy will be available and how it may be purchased separately, while stocks last.

Thanks for posting. There were nine Happy Meal programmes in total during 2007, and four of these were linked to films. There are usually between five and eight different toys in each promotion.

Regarding your question, unfortunately McDonald’s does not feel it is appropriate to tell people what and when to eat. Like with any type of food, it is a matter of balance and moderation combined with physical activity. McDonald's believes that its food is of good quality, made from quality ingredients and can be enjoyed responsibly by anybody as part of a balanced lifestyle. In order to allow McDonald's customer's make informed decisions about what they choose from the menu, a full nutritional break down of all the products available on the tray liners in store, and in the ‘Eat Smart’ section of the www.mcdonalds.co.uk website.

There were eight toys to collect in the Shrek the Third Happy Meal collection, including Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Puss-in-Boots, Gingy, Artie, Baby Shrek and Donkey. Unfortunately McDonald's doesn't have a stock of these toys, sorry.

My son is now not satisfied by a happy meal, but is still at the age that he wants the happy meal toy (an option which is not available with a full priced meal) I have spoken to several other mothers and they now do not frquent Macdonalds so much because a Happy meal is too small, and a full size meal too large. I believe you would benefit from ofering a midrange size meal.
