- 1. Have asked before but received no response, when is McDonald's going to put Pokemon characters in its Happymeals? I've looked at the US and Australian websites, which incidentally, have a lot more information on them, and those countries have them. What about us? So many people like Pokemon here too. Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 3. hi can you pls have your fries salt less for kids meals or open the other fries bay up that most stores have sitting there doing nothing for saltless fries or even stop putting salt on all the fries and give a small bag of salt with each box of fries ty

McDonald's has spent some time working on reducing the salt in its French Fries. The company conducted a trial of self-salting fries in 13 restaurants. The trial revealed that customers preferred salted fries, and that when they added salt themselves; customers tended to put more salt onto their fries than when the restaurant salted them. As a result, McDonald's has reverted to salted fries but has reduced the amount of salt by 24 percent compared with three years ago. The company continues to provide unsalted fries to customers who ask for them. If you do make an order of fries to be prepared without salt, it may take a little longer than the time that the crew member has given you. In this case, just ask the crew member to gather the order at the same time that the fries are ready, or to keep the rest of your food in the warming bin until your complete order is ready to be served. McDonald's also realises that marketing to children is a sensitive issue and the company is careful to talk to children in a responsible way. For the most part, it is parents who make the decisions about the food their children eat and a lot of time is spent considering the opinions of parents in order to create marketing and advertising that conveys positive messages to children about food choices, using their imaginations and taking part in physical activity. For example, McDonald's television advertising to children only shows Happy Meal combinations that include one portion of fruit or veg, in support of the Government's 5-a-Day programme. 95 percent of McDonald's advertising budget is directed at people over the age of 16. Our Happy Meals are designed for children and we take our responsibility for marketing them seriously. We believe the food offered is of good quality - it is not junk - and can be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet and lifestyle.
DECEMBER '07 UPDATE: McDonald's French Fries are now fully accredited by the Vegetarian Society. (December 2009)

-
Thank you for your question. Making a family friendly environment in McDonald’s UK restaurants is very important to us and we have lots of different ways to make sure each family visit is as fun as possible, including handing out balloons and face-painting. The types of activities in each restaurant are based on the individual requirements and can change over time.
The next time you visit your local McDonald's restaurant, our crew will be able to tell you about the current Happy Meal promotion and the activities for children taking place within that restaurant.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 6. my children are vegetarian & would like to have a £1.99 happy meal like their friends.i've been told that i may buy the toy & box for 99p with a vegetarian meal but that option with a portion of fries & a drink would cost about £5-£6,this is discriminating. i see other parents ordering happy meals without the meat so we are not alone.you must be the largest fastfood outlet in the world, vegetarian food is cheaper than meat, why do you not cater for our children?

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 7. is it in your vision of happy meals to make the kids toys and experience more educational rather? I believe you have a lot of scope on this at various ages or could link into cool items like inventors or writers etc
-
Thank you for your question. McDonald's aims to get the best family partners for its Happy Meals; an important element to this is that whatever the promotion, it has be fun for kids and endorsed by parents. The choice of partners is carefully researched with customers (both kids and parents) before toys are developed.
McDonald's is always keen to hear your opinions and suggestions for new menu items or Happy Meal toys. If you have any ideas that you would like to share, please contact the Customer Services team by clicking the 'Contact Us' link at www.mcdonalds.co.uk.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 8. i am curious about the choice of name for your 'happy meals'. why do you call them happy? and more to the point, why do you call them meals?
-
Many parents and their children visit McDonald's as a real treat for the family. Time and effort is put into creating an environment that children can have a great time without the normal constraints placed on them in other restaurants. Care and attention is also placed on contents of the children's menu items from the use of favourite characters on fruit bags through to the nutritional content of Chicken McNuggets, for example. So, in a nutshell, Happy Meals make children happy and that in turn makes their parents happy - hence the name. (December 2006)
