1. Has the latest foot and mouth outbreak affected you?
At this time, the recent news has not impacted on McDonald's UK supply chain nor does it appear that customers' confidence has been affected. However, McDonald's takes food safety extremely seriously and will be working closely with the authorities and will continue to monitor the situation so that any appropriate action can be taken swiftly if it's required. Food quality and safety is of paramount importance to McDonald’s and the company continually strives to ensure it only ever serves customers food that is safe to eat. Regarding BSE, McDonald’s carefully monitored the situation at the time and responded to its consumers concerns. In fact, in March 1996 the company decided to stop using British beef temporarily, even though McDonald’s felt it would be safe to eat given the high standards in place for McDonald’s suppliers. Once confidence returned, the company resumed using British beef and has done so ever since.
