1. Can you please give me the latest figures on the number of McDonald's in the UK and the world to help with the apprenticeship programme?
Thank you for your question. Within the UK, there are approximately 1200 restaurants of which around 600 are franchised. McDonald's has over 30,000 restaurants in the world, operating in over 100 countries and territories. There are approximately 72,000 people employed by McDonald’s UK and over one million worldwide. 2. It is right that Mcdonalds changed the way people in China celebrate thier birthdays?
McDonald's UK is not aware of this and suggests you visit the McDonald's China website at http://www.mcdonalds.com.cn for more information. McDonald's takes a balanced view across the world in order to provide the very best of the McDonald's experience while remaining sensitive to local issues. For example, the McDonald's restaurants in the Middle East are Halal. JUNE'07 UPDATE: McDonald's trials Halal chicken at a restaurant in Southall, London. (June 2007) SEPTEMBER '09 TRIAL RESULT: McDonald’s began this trial because we wanted to assess customer demand for certified Halal food in our UK restaurants. We have learnt that Halal is only popular with a very small percentage of our customers and to offer it we would need to make significant changes to our kitchen procedures and supply chain. Given this, we have decided that we are not currently in a position to roll out Halal food in the UK.

3. I intend visiting Dubai soon. Do Mcdonald's source Halal meat for burgers served in the Middle East.
There are markets in the world which serve Halal food such as Australia and the Middle East. To find out more about other McDonald's restaurants and menus throughout the world you can go to www.mcdonalds.com and go to the relevant country/ market site. 4. How much salt do you add to your fries? In the UK they taste just fine to me, but when i went to Texas they were so pre-salted it was un eatable, do you have measures of salt which are worked out based on area/country
Throughout the many countries within which McDonald's operates, tastes and preferences naturally differ. Each country considers the needs of its customers on a local level, and within the UK, McDonald's has made progressive efforts to reduce the amount of salt in its food due to changing consumer demands. McDonald's French Fries now have salt content reduced by 24 per cent, and our customers can also have them unsalted if they prefer. Apart from French Fries, McDonald's has actively been reducing the salt content of many other products, including Chicken McNuggets by 30 per cent, buns 20 per cent and mayonnaise by 75 per cent. 5. When I was in Canada last year, a branch had a burger called the "Double Big Mac", which was the same as a regular mac but with two burgers, why is this not available in this country?
Throughout the many countries that McDonald's operates in, tastes and flavours, plus marketing and promotion, will differ, as each market will reflect these cultural differences. In some of these countries, McDonald's research revealed popular characteristics that allowed menu specific items. Over the years, McDonald’s UK has created some great burgers which have been used in various promotions, such as the Big Tasty and the McRib, but have chosen not to market them as English per se. 6. just returned from turkey and whilst waiting for our flight our two children had a meal one was a happy meal and the other a chichen sandwich meal and to our disgust it was £17.00 can you tell me why they can charge rediculoius prices like this and the staff were really not friendly very abrupped.
