What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 2. Why is it that when I go to different McDonald's restaurants in the world, the quality of the food seems to be different? For example, the sausage egg McMuffin in the UK is "wetter" than the ones you get in Hong Kong, and that I find I generally prefer the taste of the food from HK restaurants.

Make Up Your Own Mind has been set up specifically to answer questions about McDonald's within the UK so it is hard for us to answer specific questions about products in other markets, although you can find links to the home pages of each country via www.mcdonalds.com. What can be said however is that in each country, McDonald’s looks at differing local tastes and cultural traditions and make adjustments to its core menu accordingly, although the high levels of quality and service should be the same in every McDonald's, wherever they are in the world.

McDonald's as a company works very hard to maintain high standards across all areas of its business. Whether it is in the US or here in the UK, the source of the meat used in its food products and the treatment of animals and their welfare are important issues for the company. It contains lots of interesting information on all McDonald's US food products and ingredients.

McDonald’s has a policy to source its ingredients locally wherever possible, resulting in over 17,200 British and Irish farmers supplying McDonald’s UK with ingredients. This is the same for every country the company operates in, developing menu items and promotions appropriate to their locality. However, as you may be aware, this website was set up to tell people more about McDonald’s business in the UK, and as such cannot comment of the exact practices of McDonald’s around the world. What can be said is that globally the company believes in serving good quality food to the same high standards across all its restaurants worldwide.

Many people believe that food in McDonald's restaurants across the world will always taste the same but this is not necessarily the case. Although classic products like the Big Mac will vary very little, each country has its own policy regarding the sourcing and development of menu items, to ensure that they will suit local tastes. Adjustment of seasoning for example may result in a slightly different flavour profile and that may be why you enjoy McDonald's more in the Far East. What McDonald's does do though is ensure that while flavours may differ, the same high quality standards apply worldwide.

If such a McFlurry exists, would it be possible to introduce it? P.S.: I've noticed Ronald's still looking very young. What's his secret? My mother could use some advice from him.

Many McFlurry special flavours are based on what other confectionary items are popular in different markets. It is certainly true that the French Fries served in the UK are vegetarian but this does not mean that it is necessarily the same for McDonald’s operating in other countries. Throughout the many countries that McDonald's operates in, tastes and flavours, plus marketing and promotion, will differ, as each market will reflect these cultural differences.
