Please continue to send in your questions and check back on the site from time to time for all the latest on Make Up Your Own Mind. Regarding your question, the profit generated by McDonald’s UK belongs to the US Corporation, which is the parent company. McDonald’s apologises for the delay in answering your question. As the site went through some technical updates and changes, some of the questions slipped through. However, everything is functioning better and your question has now been answered – Thank you for you patience. Within McDonald’s business there are different types of stakeholders. Internally there is McDonald’s Global corporation, based in Chicago USA. McDonald's UK business reports to McDonald's Global. In the UK McDonald’s is also made up of franchisees which represent roughly 50 per cent of the stores. Externally McDonald’s most important stakeholders are its customers and contrary to what some might believe, the company listens to them and takes note of how they think and feel about the brand, its food and business. There are also stakeholders such as the media and politicians, all of whom comment on the company, and it goes without saying that the company takes note of their comments too. The Student Information pack need not take long to get to you as you can now apply for one and have it sent straight to your email inbox.
Just send an email to rowlands.office@btconnect.com and they will send you out a pack straight away.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 6. How do interest rates (rising and falling) affect McDonald's?
-
As with any business, interest rate changes affect McDonald's. McDonald's globally is predominantly a franchised business and franchisees will often finance the purchase of a McDonald's restaurant through a bank or other lender. This loan is set at a fixed rate, above the country’s base rate, and consequently, as the base rate rises and falls so too will the cost of the financing. Here in the UK, the Bank of England sets the base rate. This is currently five percent (November 2006). This will impact those franchised restaurants where a loan is still outstanding. Company-owned restaurants are not affected by movements in the UK base rate as they are funded by the US and so will be subject to variations in US interest rates.
