Grimace was simply the original name picked for the character, although McDonald’s would agree with you that it doesn’t suit his big, loving, fuzzy personality. He is a fictional character, that unfortunately no longer features in marketing activities in the UK, but can be still be seen in other countries.

Dont you know that Ninjas are superior to pirates in every way?
-
McDonald's is disappointed that you refuse to eat its food, although the company does not have a Pirate mascot. Ronald McDonald is the Company mascot, acting as the chief happiness officer and has been the face of McDonald's since 1963. He is one of the most recognised characters in the world, and McDonald's hopes that this will carry on for a long time to come. He is all about having fun and is not involved with pirates or ninjas in any way and therefore should not offend your Ninja heritage.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 12. Why do you use a clown for your mascot when 95% of people find clowns creepy and disturbing?
-
Firstly, many apologies for the very slow response to your question, the site is undergoing technical changes and updates and as such some questions had slipped through the net so thank you for your patience. Regarding your question, Ronald McDonald was first introduced in 1963 as an image of fun and entertainment at McDonald's. He's been the face of the company since then and is still one of the most recognised characters around the world. He is a fun character to appeal to McDonald's customers. Today Ronald McDonald is used to inform and educate children about balanced lifestyles, making good food choices and being active.

He has also been chasing me in my nights of long dark terror. Could this be something to do with the Festive Pies, since I have eaten a lot of them recently?
-
Sorry to hear that you are having nightmares. However, it is highly unlikely that they have been brought on by eating Festive Pies.
