1. Can you explain how the time card system for food freshness works? From my perspective, I can't see how some numbered metal plates accomplish this. Surely it needs a "prepared time" written on the food containers and have a easily viewable (large face) digital clock by the hot plate with seconds and checked/set every morning? Then staff/customers compare the time written on the container against the clock and can be sure it's not gone over it's specific "freshness time".

McDonald's apologises if the metal timecards are confusing to customers but these time indicators are for McDonald's staff use and relate to how long ago the burger was made. McDonald's doesn’t have anything to hide - burgers that are not served within ten minutes are thrown away to ensure that they are served at an optimum temperature and freshness for your enjoyment.
