I asked you "I heard you use stock anwsers in your burgers, is this true" and I got an email saying that my question had been anwsered, but the link in the email sent me to the question "I've heard your burgers are made from poor people that populate the third world countries. Why not choose people from the over populated china instead?". So is this a yes to my question?
-
McDonald’s apologises as there seems to have been a mix up. Every question the Make Up Your Own Mind team receive is dealt with individually, even the facetious ones. However, there are many questions that relate to the same subject matter, such as this case, where your original question referred to the contents of the beef patties. As this is a question that is asked repeatedly, they are given similar or identical answers.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 6. Hi, whats it like answering questions for a job? iv seen some pretty hilarious questions on the site so id imagine you enjoy your work
-
Yes some of the questions posted could certainly be classified as hilarious and some border on the bizarre but those questions tend to be the minority - most people use the Make Up Your Own Mind site for the real reason it was set up - to find out the truth about the McDonald's business and the food it sells in its restaurants. McDonald's probably suffers from more misconceptions than any other food company and it is great for McDonald’s to have a forum that lets us tell the real story to customers looking for answers to genuine concerns. The Company takes the serious questions with the more quirky ones and tries to respond to them all quickly and efficiently, although if the questions are genuinely offensive or seek personal information that McDonald's is not permitted by law to provide, the Company reserves the right to limit its response.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 7. Do you think it's hypocritical to have a website up called 'Make up your own mind' which is filled only with pro-McDonalds propaganda? I have read much of your content and decided that I will still never eat your "food", nor allow my children to. Is this a positive outcome in your opinion, given that I have, in fact, made up my own mind?
-
Although you have come away with a negative impression, the purpose of the Make Up Your Mind site is still worthwhile. McDonald's takes pride in the food and service it provides. However, as a recognised brand leader in its industry, there are a lot of false things said about the company and McDonald's wanted to do something about it. So the Make Up Your Own Mind was conceived, giving not only McDonald's the opportunity to educate people about its business, but allowing people just like you to question, probe and really get to the bottom line on all things McDonald's. Innovations like the Independent Quality Scout programme are an example of this. Quality Scouts are members of the general public from around the UK who are curious about McDonald's business. They are not paid, and have no ties to the company. All they do is take an honest, behind the scenes look at McDonald's and report back, with written reports, pictures, interviews and video of all that they see and hear. It is an unbiased, all-access look into some of the procedures at McDonald's, and the site is improving all the time. 13,000 questions have already been posted with more arriving daily. It is a shame that you are not planning to visit a McDonald's restaurant, but it is good that you were able to browse the site and come to your own decision about McDonald's.

I now know burgers are 100%beef - not cats, road kill or the indigenous peoples of South America . and that all the fries are cooking in 100% veg oil I have read these responses many times. . Don't you find it amazing that people on here seems to be asking the same question over again instead of reading previous response? some great response from some of the dafter questions though, keeping us all amused here in the office - we're loving it!!

McDonald's is pleased to hear you are enjoying the website. When Make Up Your Own Mind was first launched in 2006 McDonald’s made a commitment to answering all the relevant questions that were sent, even if they were similar to those previously asked. To date the site has received over 16,000 questions, all of which the Make Your Own Mind Up team have endeavoured to answer appropriately. The website aims to provide answers to genuine misconceptions and concerns that customers may have, and the company takes on the more light hearted questions along with the serious ones.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 11. Why only the UK? Obviously people from around the world use this site and would like to talk about their countries as well, instead of being brushed aside with "Thats an interesting question. However, this website has been set up to deal primarily with questions regarding the UK...so go away".
-
Firstly, many apologies for the very slow response to your question, as the site went through a few changes and technical updates some questions had slipped through so thank you for your patience. Please continue to send in your questions and check back on the site from time to time for all the latest on Make Up Your Own Mind. Regarding your question, Each country has its own initiatives that suit the local requirements. Australia, for example, has its own version of Make Up Your Own Mind as does the United States which has a programme called the ‘Mom's Correspondents Initiative.’ The team and the panel of McDonald's experts tries to answer any questions that come in about the McDonald's business in other parts of the world directly but this site has been set up to cover the UK business primarily.

I think this is a ridiculus marketing scam, you may deniy it but otherwise you guy wouldn't get paid as it would not be in mcdonalds intrest. I think this site is just one big advert were you only publish the questions that put you in a good light

McDonald’s apologises for the delay in answering your question. As the site went through some technical updates and changes, some of the questions slipped through. However, everything is functioning better and your question has now been answered – Thank you for you patience. The Make Up Your Own site has not been set up to scam anybody. What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 13. A question and answer website seems a good way to put across the idea of accountability. But it also enables a complex question to be answered with a simple, convincing, 'sorry you feel that way, BUT...' response. It would be easy to answer back to such responses - they reiterate your publicity. But we can't. If you're interested in openness, how about a dialogue - by which I mean an ability to respond to each other, several times, in sequence? My question: why don't you do this?
-
McDonald’s apologises for the delay in answering your question. As the site went through some technical updates and changes, some of the questions slipped through. However, everything is functioning better and your question has now been answered – Thank you for you patience. Thanks for posting in your suggestion. The response and feedback to the site has been very positive. The site is still growing and everybody involved is learning all the time and using these lessons to improve the site. Your suggestion is a good one and is something that the team and McDonald's will consider as a future extension of the site. However, we would caveat that with the fact that at the moment, the makeupyourownmind team passes questions (often in their hundreds) to the relevant people through the McDonald's organisation to answer. They do this on top of their day jobs, happily, but to ask them to promise ongoing dialogue on specific questions may be stretching the time they can give at this stage. A more practical solution may be to introduce scheduled web chats with people from McDonald's, to facilitate the kind of conversation you are looking after.
Now that 2008 has arrived, the site will change and develop throughout the coming months. So look out for more interactivity and functionality with features such as 'email a friend', polls, RSS feeds, etc. We hope to introduce ways for visitors to leave comments and thoughts on the site or any other topical issue, as they currently can now with the Happy Meal and Halal sections.
Thanks for the support, and keep visiting the site to see all new features and functions.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 14. I notice on your website that you have photos of cattle farming and a chicken meat processing line. You do not show an actual chicken farm; is this becuase the majority of your chicken is battery farmed and you believe that consumers should not see such terrible images, even if the meat complies with UK law?
-
McDonald’s apologises for the delay in answering your question. As the site went through some technical updates and changes, some of the questions slipped through. However, everything is functioning better and your question has now been answered – Thank you for you patience. Thank you for your question. On the site within the Quality Scouts section, you can not only see pictures, you can watch video and read and hear reports from Charlotte Haile, Mhairi Geddes and Kym Norman. They're three independent Quality Scouts who made visits to chicken suppliers that work with McDonald's and they ask questions about all aspects of the supply chain and animal welfare. You are right that - at this stage - no Scout has visited the chicken farms, however this is because we have been focused on the food questions our customers would most like answered - from field to fork on burgers, and the exact quality standards of the McNuggets. But for your reassurance, chickens raised for McDonald’s meat products are called broilers and are reared in barns which are monitored to the standards set by the ACP (Assured Chicken Production) protocol. This ensures full control over all aspects of chicken farming, including feed and animal welfare. McDonald's insists that all of its suppliers adhere to very strict standards of animal welfare and independent audits are conducted on a regular basis. No animal used in the McDonald's supply chain is ever caged. All the chicken used is traceable right back to the farms on which the birds were raised. For further information on chicken farming and the Quality Scouts, click on the ‘Meet the Scouts’ link in the ‘Quality Scouts’ section of this site.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 15. Do you really think that setting up a site such as this will in any way work towards "creating" a "new" image to counter the horrors of the food industry perpetrated by your company and others like it?
-
McDonald’s apologises for the delay in answering your question. As the site went through some technical updates and changes, some of the questions slipped through. However, everything is functioning better and your question has now been answered – Thank you for you patience. This site is not concerned with creating a 'new image', merely with providing a means for those interested in knowing more about the company's business to ask direct questions and receive direct answers. There are a lot of misconceptions about the industry and about McDonald's in particular; the company has simply chosen to throw open the doors via the question & answer section and physically through the Quality Scout visits to show people what really goes on behind the scenes. You might like to take a few minutes to read some of the independent and impartial reports written and posted, uncensored, by the unpaid members of the public to allay some of your fears about the 'horrors' of the industry.
