What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 5. I'm 17, and training squad at my local McDonalds. I'm on the right track, I've been working only a short time and I'll be a manager by christmas. The time has come for me to move into my own place of residence, which may not be close to the store I'm currently at. Is it possible to change stores, but still keep the status I've acomplished so far?

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 7. It seems that interesting jobs make better workers- so why don't we make all jobs more interesting? What interesting jobs mean for McDonald and Do jobs at Mcdonald make better workers? Please explain.
-
Thank you for your interesting question. An independent academic conducted an anonymous research project amongst McDonald's staff and their friends and family. It concluded that a McDonald's job is 'rewarding, stimulating and fun'. The company was also listed in the FT Best Workplaces rankings for 2007, further demonstrating the worth of a job at McDonald's.
In terms of investment, the company spends £14 million a year on training for its employees. This includes training for the most junior employees who are trained on Health and Safety and Food Hygiene as well as restaurant practices. We have recently introduced GCSE level qualifications in English and Math free of charge for all of our employees via on-line learning. Currently we have over 1500 people studying for these qualifications which are making a significant difference to the lives of people who were unable to obtain these whilst in the education system.

As I have 2 GCSE's I can only imagine this is on grounds of my homosexuality. Now I'm off to join the Navy, where I am welcomed. Does McDonalds have an active 'no benders' recruitment policy? Surely this is against EU policy?

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 9. Pay Rate (What's the pay rate for under 18s and over?) Holidays (How long are employees are allowed to go on holiday a year and is it paid holiday?) Notice (Whats the requirements if employees wish to quit their job?) Break/Lunch (How long do they have break and lunch for, are they provided with meals?) Discounts/Bonuses (Do employees get discounts/ loyalty card and other bonuses such as pay increase?)
-
The answers to these questions depend on many factors. For example, the type of position the employee holds, whether they're full time or part time, length of service, age, etc. However, an overview of the questions will be given below. The rate for employees aged 16-17 begins at £4 per hour; for 18 -21 it begins at £4.25 per hour and for 22 and over it is £5.05 per hour. It should be noted that these are entry rates and successful staff receive a pay increase after a three week probation period. Approximately 83 percent of McDonald's employees are being paid above the minimum wage. The notice period to leave a post is dependent upon how long the employee has been working with the company. There are many benefits in place for hourly paid staff, including a free meal allowance, four weeks paid holiday per annum, free life assurance, private health care (after a qualifying period), an employee discount card and a length of service awards scheme. McDonald's also has employee recognition awards such as employee of the month, quarter and year in many restaurants. You can see them in the posted in participating restaurants. There are additional benefits for management staff. For more information regarding employment at McDonald's UK, log onto www.mcdonalds.co.uk and go to the 'Careers' section.

-
McDonald's staff are trained in Health and Safety and Food Hygiene. The company spends £14 million a year on training its employees. New employees receive instruction before they commence work, and this continues during their employment through classes and on-the-job training. It's also integrated into all working practices. Managers receive additional health and safety training as part of the management development programme. Observation checklists and regular restaurant management reviews are used to determine that correct procedures are followed and safety training is effective. What really goes into the beef patties is beef, 100 percent beef, taken from whole cuts of forequarter and flank with nothing added but a little salt and pepper after cooking. You can find all McDonald's food ingredients in the 'Ingredients List' in the 'Eat Smart' section of www.mcdonalds.co.uk.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 12. i worked for mcdonalds 16years ago in edinburgh i enjoyed my work but was so bullied i left and have always been scared to go back what do you have to say would the same thing happen today
-
McDonald’s is sorry to hear of the negative working experience you describe. If any employee was having similar problems today, McDonald’s would advise them to speak to their restaurant manager. If that did not resolve the problem, the company would advise that they contact their regional human resources department (through the HR Helpline number) or speak with the franchise owner. Bullying will not be tolerated in any McDonald’s restaurant, and if a matter like this is brought to the company’s attention, appropriate disciplinary action would be taken.

-
No, McDonald’s has a no-tip policy for its staff. However, staff performance is assessed routinely through pay related performance reviews.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 14. I don't think mcdonalds cares very much for there employees because my friend works there and they permantely put her on shift until midnight. But one day she told them that she had no money for a taxi home, and asked if she could go earlier, which the manager said no, so then she had to walk home at 1:00am in the morning, and they never even offered her a lift home or money for a taxi! So what happens if my friend had of been attacked? It would of been all your fault!
-
If your friend has issues with their work schedules, McDonald’s would advise them to speak to their restaurant manager in the first instance. If that does not resolve the problem, the company advises that they contact their regional Human Resources department (through the HR Helpline number) or speak with their franchisee.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 15. If you care so much about your 'young workers' why did McDonalds actively campaign against the minumum wage in the US and try to pay sub-minimum wages to many of its workers with its attempt to get ' The McDonalds Bill' passed into legislation.

This web site has been set up by McDonald’s UK, and so can’t really comment on practices or events in the US. Please go to the ‘Contact Us’ section of the McDonald’s US website for information on how to get in touch with them directly.
