Thanks for your question. A Business Manager is in charge of the restaurant. They will provide motivational leadership to the restaurant team, ensure customers leave satisfied, and they make sure that the business is financially strong. The Business Manager is also responsible for making all of the major decision associated with running the restaurant, from recruitment to energy efficiency. They also work at building strong and mutually beneficial relationships with the local community. Typically a Business Manage will manage a team of 80 employees. (March 2011)

Thanks for your question. Whilst McDonald's will commit to making reasonable adjustments to facilitate employees religious beliefs, the roles in our restaurants could not guarantee that an employee would not come into contact with non-Halal meet. All positions within the restaurant require an element of food handling, whether that is cooking it in the kitchen, serving it at the tills, or cleaning it away in the dining areas. (March 2011)

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 50. Do employees have the right to refuse to work on all Bank Holidays without any sanction imposed on them? If so, does this mean that the employee would get the day's holiday, but without pay?

Thanks for your question. McDonald’s doesn’t force staff to work on bank holidays if they don’t want to. All hourly-paid staff can choose which hours and on which days they are available to work and will not be scheduled outside of their requested availability. Therefore, if an employee does not wish to work on a designated bank holiday, they do not have to do so but this would be best discussed with your manager. (March 2011)

McDonald's has over 30,000 restaurants in the world, operating in over 100 countries and territories. There are approximately 72,000 people employed by McDonald’s UK and over 1 million worldwide. At my wife's store they have been told that they cannot have any chicken products, even a chicken nugget happy meal, neither can they have a wrap, a salad, quarter pounder and especially not a festive buger. So that basically leaves someone on a diet nothing to chose from. Is this normal or just her store ? Also what bonuses and service awards can someone get, she has been there 9 years, and has received neither ? Thanks.
