1. Where does mcdonalds get their vegetables i.e tomatoes, fresh onions, lettuce, cuccumber and are they organic
Thanks for your question. The tomatoes are grown in either Holland or Spain depending on the season (although we have other sources as contingencies such as Morocco). The tomatoes are then prepared by our supplier in Wisbech, Cambs. The fresh onions are sourced and processed from Holland. Lettuce is predominantly sourced from the UK in the spring and summer months, and Spain in the autumn and winter months. However, there is also a small percentage from Holland and France. The Cucumber is sourced from Spain and Holland depending on the season, and the cucumber used to make our dill pickles primarily come from Turkey. These products are not organic. You may be interested to learn that British organic semi-skimmed milk is used in all of McDonald’s UK teas, coffees, Dairystix, Happy Meal milk bottles and porridge. (February 2011)
