2. How does the server in the collection window know which order to give?
Thanks for your question. When orders are paid for at the cashier window the cars are then put into sequence in the Drive Thru lane and Drive Thru screen. The presenter will hand out orders as they appear in sequence on the monitor. There is also an order number for each order that is in sequence and staff use this number when putting an order together in preparation to be presented to the customer. (March 2011)

3. I am writing about strategic change in my University assignment, and focussing on McDonalds and specifically about your decision to rebrand your restaurants in the UK. So what are the reasons behind the decision to revamp and change many of the McDonalds restaurants into the new modern look?
Thank you for your question. The company strives to remain contemporary and progressive in keeping with its customer needs and expectations. The recent refurbishments are good examples of this principle. We want to ensure customers have the best experience as possible when they visit one of our restaurants, how our restaurants look and feel is a big part of this. 4. am i allowed to set up my own home delivery service of macdonalds food?
Thanks for your question. McDonald’s has considered and indeed trialled a delivery service in a number of locations, however this is something the Company is not moving forward with. In order to successfully implement a McDonald’s delivery service many factors have to be taken into account. For example, the length of time taken for the staff to reach their destination to ensure hot, fresh food in the quickest time whilst considering McDonald's responsibility as an employer to ensure that it does not compromise the safety of the employees. McDonald's considers that by providing such a service it cannot guarantee the safety and well being of its employees or adequately meet its quality commitment to deliver hot, freshly prepared food every time to off-site locations. McDonald’s would not therefore be in a position to support any such delivery venture. (January 2011)

5. I am doing a report on your brand for university as part of a unit and would like to know your views on mcdonalds doing " home delivery" in the UK : is it possible one day? what promotional tool would you use and who would it be targeted to. is there any website where I could get more information ? thank you
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately no, here in the UK a delivery service is something which McDonald’s has considered and indeed trialled in a number of locations. In order to successfully implement a McDonald’s delivery service many factors have to be taken into account. For example, the length of time taken for the staff to reach their destinations to ensure hot, fresh food in the quickest time and our responsibility as an employer to ensure that we do not compromise the safety of our employees. At this time we feel that by providing such a service we cannot guarantee the safety and well being of our employees or adequately meet our quality commitment to deliver hot, freshly prepared food every time to off-site locations. We have therefore taken the view not to pursue a delivery service policy at this present time. For more information about McDonald's UK please visit www.mcdonalds.co.uk (December 2010)
