1. How much energy do twin clam grills use when they are on both standby and in use? I need this to help me with my apprenticeship please.
Thanks for your question. Grills will use 3kw per two platens (whole grill) when in standby, 5kw with the platens up, and usually between 7 and 10kw during cooking, but this will depend upon usage. (June 2011)

3. is there any Mc Cafe around UK? if yes, where? if not, where i could get some information for existing Mc Cafe facilities layout?
Thank you for your question. In the UK, there are no stand-alone McCafes at present. However, you can drink fullBEAN freshly ground coffee in all our UK restaurants. Our coffee is made using Arabica beans certified by the Rainforest Alliance. (March 2011)

4. I have seen alot of questions about Mcdonalds doing a home delivery service. The answer seems to be that you cannot meet the standards needed to deliver quality, fresh food at this present time. May I ask why is this?, this kind of delivery service has been going on in America for a while now, why should the UK be any different?.
Thank you for your question. Here in the UK a delivery service is something which McDonald’s has considered and indeed trialled in a number of locations. In order to successfully implement a McDonald’s delivery service many factors have to be taken into account. For example the length of time taken for the staff to reach their destinations to ensure hot, fresh food in the quickest time and our responsibility as an employer to ensure that we do not compromise the safety of our employees. At this time we feel that by providing such a service we cannot guarantee the safety and well being of our employees or adequately meet our quality commitment to deliver hot, freshly prepared food every time to off-site locations. We have therefore taken the view not to pursue a delivery service policy at this present time.

5. On a recent trip to Amsterdam on arrival I was cold and hungry went in to your restaurant I was shocked to have to pay to use the toilet as they are free here in Scotland.
Thank you for your comment. McDonald’s wants all its customers to be well looked after and comfortable. However, as you may be aware, the Make Up Your Own Mind web site is operated by McDonald's UK, and as such deals with issues relating only to the United Kingdom. As such, we can't respond in any greater detail to an incident that took place overseas. If you would like a more specific response, the best course of action is for you to get in touch with McDonald’s Italy by visiting http://www.mcdonalds.it It maybe worth noting that strictly speaking, the bathroom facilities are for McDonald's customers only. However, the Restaurant Manager is unlikely to take exception to potential customers using the loo unless it's felt that, owing to the location of the restaurant; the use of the facilities by non-customers is hindering paying customers at any given time. 6. How do mcdonalds use new technology? I know they use the internet but is there any other ways in which you keep up to date with how technology moves on??..
Firstly apologies for the delay in answering your question, the team has been very busy with all the questions that are pouring in and everybody is working hard to answer them all. At McDonald's technology is used to help the company engage with customers, improve the brand experience and power restaurant operations. In the end technology changes everything and it changes nothing... it is still all about real people serving real food to real customers in McDonald’s restaurants. Today, consumers have access to information they've never had before. This access brings incredible choice and customers have many forums to use their voice. Technology is a tool, however, it’s inseparable from lifestyle (and it's mobile) -Technology is inherent in lifestyle - it's simply a part of how we work, how we play and how we live. (Nov 2008)
