Thank you for your question. Within the UK, there are approximately 1200 restaurants, of which around 600 are franchises. We cannot give you the projected number of restaurants for the next two years as this information is confidential. (June 2011)

As this site has been set up to answer questions about McDonald’s in the UK we are not in a position to answer questions relating to restaurants in military bases or other countries and we are not able to provide a full list of all the countries where McDonald's operates around the world. However we can tell you that within the UK, there are approximately 1200 restaurants, of which around 600 are franchises. McDonald's has over 30,000 restaurants in the world, operating in over 100 countries and territories. There are approximately 72,000 people employed by McDonald’s UK and over 1 million worldwide. Thank you for your question. If it is franchised there should be a sign on entering the restaurant stating a person or company as the trading entity. (January 2011)

Thank you for your question. No, this is not true.
McDonald’s did run a trial in the Southall, London resturant where a number of Halal products were made available for a limited time. The purpose of the trial was to assess customer demand for certified Halal food in our UK restaurants. As a result of the trial, we learnt that Halal is only popular with a very small percentage of our customers and to offer it we would need to make significant changes to our kitchen procedures and supply chain. Given this, we have decided that we are not currently in a position to roll out Halal food in the UK.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 7. Dear Sir, I live in the small town of STRANRAER in S/W Scotland. I believe McDonalds would prosper here. The town is the only one in the area and all the small village populations come here to do there main shopping. We are also the Stenna Line ferry port to Belfast. Salaries are below the national average, agriculture being the main work force. Low income workers (and non-workers) would find a McDonalds most satisfying! Please give this your serious consideration. Thank you, DFH

Thank you for your question. At present McDonald’s are not looking at any specific sites in Stanraer, however McDonalds are actively in the market for new stores and are constantly reviewing ongoing requirements and potential sites. We will investigate any potentially viable sites which are made aware to our acquisitions team and progress those where we consider there is potential.

Thank you for your feedback. McDonalds has an active acquisition programme and is looking for new sites in a number of locations. You’ll be pleased to hear that at present the company is actively considering a number of locations within the Gainsborough area.
