3. Is the menu tray inserts information valid for every McDonalds? Such as, the more recent insert (2009) said that the Apple Pie is not vegetarian. Also, I went to the McDonalds at Haringey Green Lanes on 28th July 2009. The tray insert was dated May 2008 and said the Apple Pie was vegetarian. What am I supposed to believe? Is the Apple Pie vegetarian or not.
All ingredients in the Apple Pie are suitable for vegetarians (i.e. contain no ingredients of animal origin). The apple pies are cooked in a dedicated vat using a non hydrogenated blend of rapeseed and sunflower oil (which is suitable for vegetarians). However, due to the design of the oil filtration system there is a small chance the oil used to fry Apple Pies can become in contact with oil used to cook chicken and fish products during the oil filtering process. We therefore cannot guarantee cross-contamination will not occur. McDonald's French Fries have been officially accredited by the Vegetarian Society. This is because they are cooked in dedicated frying vats, with a completely separate filtering unit. (August 2009)

8. hello there. coul you tell me if Festive Pie is suitable for vegitarian
Thank you for your question. All the ingredients in the Festive Pie are suitable for vegetarians, however, the cooked pie cannot be guaranteed suitable for vegetarians. This is because in some restaurants, during the oil filtration process for the fryers, there is a slight chance the oil could have been mixed with oil that has been used to cook chicken products. This is not the case for all restaurants so it is best to speak to the restaurant manager so they can explain the process, which is used in their specific restaurant. For a full list of all the ingredients in our menu items please copy and paste this link to our website into your browser http://www.mcdonalds.co.uk/food/ingredients. (Jan 09)
