- 1. Where r your ash browns from and what oil are they fried in
-
Thanks for your question. McDonald’s hash browns are made in the West Midlands, using British-grown potatoes. They are then cooked in a 100% vegetable oil made up of a blend of sunflower and rapeseed oil. (May 2011)

I would just like to know how do macdonalds cook the bacon part of the muffin meal has it is always cooked prefect every time. Thanks your food really has improved in the last 2 years.

Thank you for the comments, its great hearing that you enjoy the Bacon and Egg McMuffin. McDonald's strives to prepare its food perfectly every time. In the case of the bacon in the muffin, McDonald’s uses cuts of trimmed, cured and sliced pork belly for its pork food items. The bacon is pre-cooked by our bacon supplier and then heated in the restaurants using a steamer.

And why don’t you tell people about the sunflower oil that the salt and pepper is mixed into??? Just a pinch of salt and pepper you say!
-
The sausage patty used in McDonald’s UK Sausage and Egg McMuffin contains 97% pork and makes up 28% of the final sandwich. The egg used contains 100% egg and makes up 27% of the final sandwich and the muffin is 34% of the final sandwich.
With regards to your second question concerning seasoning, there is less than 0.5% sunflower oil in the salt and pepper mix used to season the beef patties. Its function is as a processing aid for the seasoning to stop it clumping and as such does not need to be declared.

-
Thank you for your question. McDonald’s UK Scrambled Eggs are made with free range eggs and a small addition of semi skimmed milk, that's it. Then the kitchen crew members scramble the eggs briskly and cook them on the bespoke hotplate grill. For a full list of ingredients for all McDonald’s menu items please visit the ‘Food’ section at www.mcdonalds.co.uk.
