- 1. Why do people assume everyone else doesnt like Gerkins on their burgers just because they don't like them? Gerkins are great on burgers and it's a great tradition to continue!
-
Thanks for your comment. The majority of customers enjoy the burgers as they are and the gherkin is one of the special ingredients that make a McDonald’s burger unique. There has always been a great debate around whether McDonald's burgers taste better with or without the gherkins. Some people love them, others don't, and that's OK. However, when a customer would like a burger without a gherkin, they are more than welcome to ask for their burger without it. (April 2011)

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 2. please can you tell me all about the M burger, its ingredience where it came from everything please?
-
Thank you for your question.
The bun used in an M burger is baked by one of our bakery product suppliers in Germany. The patty is made in Germany from 100% British and Irish beef. The M dressing sauce is made by one of our sauce suppliers in Germany. The Emmental Cheese slices are produced by a supplier in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, whilst the tomato is processed in Wisbech, Cambs, but can be sourced from Holland, Poland, Spain, Morocco, Belgium or Italy. The Batavia lettuce is predominantly sourced from the UK in the spring and summer months, and Spain in the autumn and winter months. However, there is also a small percentage from Morocco, Holland and France. Finally the bacon, like all our pork products, is made with British pork and comes from Bodmin, Cornwall.
You can find all the ingredients, nutritional and allergen information for McDonald's current products on the McDonald’s website (www.mcdonalds.co.uk). Once on the website simply click on the Food section of the website and select your chosen product. (March 2011)

Thank you for your question. The beef patty is made using 100% British and Irish beef, supplied by our beef patty supplier in Scunthorpe. The bun used is baked by one of our bakery product suppliers in Heywood near Manchester or Banbury, Oxfordshire. The mustard is made by one of our sauce suppliers in Lancashire, whilst the Heinz ketchup is made in Belgium. The dill pickles are sourced from Turkey and the onions are from the United States.
You can find out more about McDonald’s food at www.mcdonalds.co.uk and then clicking on the ‘Food’ tab. The beef patty is cooked on our grill with a pinch of salt and pepper added after cooking, the burger is then assembled by our staff and served to the customer. (March 2011)

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 4. Are McDonalds burgers made and deliverd in store or do McDonlads make them in store themselves?
-
Thanks for your question. The beef patties are 100% British and Irish beef and are made in Scunthorpe, where they are made and instantly frozen, they are then sent to each store for use in our burgers. Once at our restaurants, the patties are cooked and assembled into the finished product.
A pinch of salt and pepper is added to the beef patty after cooking.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 5. I've heard that meat for your burger is made up of cows brains, testicals and penis. Can you confirm this is 100% true?
-
No, McDonald's can't confirm this as true, because it isn't. All McDonald's hamburgers are made of beef. Nothing else just 100 percent beef, made from whole cuts of forequarter and flank (similar to the mince you'd buy in the supermarket). All that's added is a pinch of salt and pepper after cooking.

McDonald’s uses cuts of trimmed, cured and sliced pork belly for its pork food items. The streaky bacon is warmed through in the restaurant before being added to the sandwiches.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 8. Why are hamburgers called ham burgers when there really beef? And what percentage of testicles is there in each burger?
-
Thank you for your question. The word "Hamburger" comes from Hamburg, Germany, which is where the first hamburger was made. All McDonald's hamburgers are made of beef, nothing else. Just 100 percent beef, from whole cuts of forequarter and flank (similar to the mince you'd buy in the supermarket). All that's added is a pinch of salt and pepper after cooking.

Considering I work at a slaughterhouse that handles manufactured beef products such as yours, I find it very convincing that I've eaten several McDonald’s hamburgers with fillers. I've even bit into crunchy thick morsels of various "Beef" by products.
-
Thank you for your question. The burger patties themselves are 100 percent beef with no binders, fillers or additives, just a little salt and pepper, which is added after cooking for taste. If you feel, at any time, that the standard of food falls short, please do inform the restaurant manager, or contact our Customer Services team on 08705 244622. The team would be happy to investigate any issues fully on your behalf.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 11. What measures does McDonalds take (if any) to ensure a longer shelf life for their burgers?
-
None! The reason why McDonald's burgers taste so good is that they are all freshly prepared. It takes around 42 seconds to cook a Hamburger or a Cheeseburger beef patty and approximately two minutes to cook a Quarter Pounder beef patty. The beef patties are cooked without added fat or oil between hot plates that cook the patties from both sides. A small amount of salt and pepper is then sprinkled on. When they are ready, the sandwiches are individually wrapped or boxed and placed in a warming area for no longer than ten minutes. Any sandwiches that are not sold within that time are discarded. This keeps the food fresh, hot and tasty every time.

-
Thank you for your question. Actually, our burgers do come with vegetables. All McDonald’s burgers are served with onions and dill pickle slices, whilst the Big Mac also comes with Iceburg Lettuce. The Spicy Veggie Toasted Deli sandwich also contains vegetables.
The McDonald's main salad contains over two portions of vegetables and the garden side salad one portion. Also on the menu are carrot sticks.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 14. Also, in the instance that you answer that the beef is the same, and not just 'similar', as the mince I'd buy in the supermarket, would you be willing to demonstrate it by allowing the mince I'd buy in the supermarket to be made in the restaurant as a burger, and compared to your own beef?
-
With regard to your question, we actually state that McDonald’s ingredients used are similar to those you might buy in the supermarket. For example McDonald's beef is from whole cuts of forequarter and flank beef, from British and Irish farms only.
However due to our stringent food, health and safety regulations we cannot cook any ingredient in our kitchens that has not come from one of our own tried and trusted suppliers.
To find out more about our beef, you might be interested in the growing section of this site on 'Quality Scouts' - mums and dads who have gone, independently, behind the scenes of McDonald's suppliers and restaurants to see exactly what goes on. They have reported back here on their findings; they are not paid for their visits and are at total liberty to report honestly - and they've been very impressed by the standards they have found.
One scout report that could be of particular interest to you is Dani-Leigh’s who visited one of our Beef suppliers and witnessed the mincing process at first hand.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 15. I have tastes burgers at mc donalds many times and not once have i tasted beef, especially they are not the same as the 100% beef from supermarkets and burger king? Also i have noticed that when finishing a mc donalds meal i tend to feel sleepy, can that be explained!
-
All McDonald's hamburgers are made from beef. Nothing else. Just 100 percent beef, from whole cuts of forequarter and flank (similar to the mince you'd buy in the supermarket). All that is added is a pinch of salt and pepper after cooking for seasoning. However, regarding the supply of beef to supermarkets and other fast food restaurants, McDonald's respectfully doesn't comment on other companies.
McDonald's believes that its burgers taste great, but it's a matter of personal taste, and the company respects your opinion.
