What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 2. When did you start using only white breast meat in your chicken nuggets
-
McDonald's apologises for the late reply to your question. There has been a lot of activity recently with questions being posted to the site and the team are working hard to answer all questions as quickly as possible, so thank you for your patience. In answer to your question, when customers said they wanted nothing but breast meat to be used in the Chicken McNuggets, the company listened. So in 2004 McDonald's started preparing its McNuggets with only breast meat. From January 2006, the skin was removed from the meat as well.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 3. I want to know: You say 45% of nuggets is chicken and the other 55% is made up of other ingrediensts. The batter being 15% of that so what on earth is the other 40%! bearing in mind that it is mixed in with the 45% chicken part to make the nugget. Your nugget is then not even half chicken meat!
-
Sorry for the delay in responding to this question, and thank you for your patience.
Breaking down ingredients to their exact percentages can be confusing. With the Chicken McNuggets, the meat used is 100 per cent chicken breast meat, and that makes up 45 per cent of the whole McNugget. The ingredients used to give the meat its unique taste, plus the batter, make up the rest. Here is a full list of ingredients for the Chicken McNuggets:
Chicken (45%), Coating (Vegetable Oil (Rapeseed
Oil, Sunflower Oil), Wheat Flour, Maize Flour,
Raising Agents (E450 Disodium Diphosphate,
E500 Sodium Bicarbonate, E341 Monocalcium
Phosphate), Dried Egg Albumen, Pepper, Salt,
Wheat Starch, Whey Powder, Ground Celery,
Flavour Enhancer (E508 Potassium Chloride),
Vegetable Oil (Rapeseed Oil)), Water, Natural
Flavouring, Flavour Enhancer (E508 Potassium Chloride), Potato Starch, Vegetable Oil
(Rapeseed Oil).

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 4. Why do you put crap in the chicken nuggets and say that they are things which add flavour and make young children be able to chew them? Thats the worst excuse i've ever heard to put chemicals into whats already poison. Poor propaganda. How much do you pay your PR company? Too much?
-
Sorry for the delay in responding to your question - the site has been through some recent changes and caused a delay in getting questions answered. However, it has been sorted, so thank you for your patience. There is no poison or any other harmful content in McDonald's Chicken McNuggets. In fact, barring food allergies, there is nothing in the McNuggets that will cause anybody to be sick in any way. All the ingredients found in McDonald's Chicken McNuggets are safe and can be found in many other food products that you might buy from your local supermarket. McDonald's is aware that its McNuggets are enjoyed mainly by younger customers and prepares them using minced 100 per cent chicken breast meat and forming them into fun shapes that are perfect for dipping. There is nothing sinister going on and no PR propaganda machine, just an awareness of customers and their tastes.

-
McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets do still come in different shapes. There are currently four shapes – a ball, bell bone and a boot. All are made from 100 percent white chicken breast meat coated in the same specially seasoned batter that gives them their great taste.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 6. When you say your chicken nuggets are 100% chicken breast you are missleading people into thinking that is all that is in them. If what you say for the ingredients is true then there is actually only 45% chicken so why are you missleading customers, most of who dont look at the ingredients.
-
McDonald's does not believe it is misleading anybody. The core ingredient of McDonald's McNuggets is chicken, and this chicken is made up of 100 per cent white chicken breast meat. This is why the description you should see about McNuggets is that "the only meat used in McDonald's Chicken McNuggets is 100% breast meat". (The same is true of any of the chicken menu).
This accounts for 45% of the total ingredients that make up the whole nugget as a food item. The other ingredients are the seasoning, batter etc. - not different meats - and McDonald's believes that most people would know there are other ingredients simply from looking at or tasting the product.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 7. Do chicken burgers contain chicken eyeballs and chicken beaks?
-
No. The only meat used in McDonald’s Chicken Burgers is carefully deboned chicken breast. All the chicken used is traceable right back to the farms on which the birds were raised and the highest standards are assured with rigorous quality checks and inspections. There are no nasty bits added at any stage. If you would like further reassurance then please follow the investigations of the independent Quality Scouts to see how they're made – they're members of the general public from around the UK who are curious about McDonald's business and its food. They're not paid, and have no ties to the company. They take an honest, behind the scenes look at McDonald's and report back exactly what they see and hear. What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 8. I read your McNuggets report with interest. Just one question....what is the 'natural chicken flavouring' made of? The other ingredients seem fine, however, 'natural' can encompass all sorts of mechanically removed/processed stuff.
-
Thanks for asking, and hopefully this can reassure you: there is no mechanically removed or processed chicken in the natural chicken flavour used in Chicken McNuggets. It is based on a yeast extract.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 9. which contains the most chicken breast out of chicken nuggets and chicken selects and which is the healthier option?
-
Chicken McNuggets contain 45 per cent breast meat, while Chicken Selects contain 58 per cent breast meat. Comparing a portion of 6 Chicken McNuggets and 3 Chicken Selects, the Chicken McNuggets may be your preferred option as they contain less sugar, fat, saturated fat and less salt per portion. If you order the Chicken McNuggets with a garden side salad instead of fries it will help contribute towards your 5 portions of fruit or veg a day.

-
This may come as a surprise, but there are no nasty bits in the Chicken McNuggets. The only meat used in the nuggets is chicken breast meat. Once made, they're then coated with a specially seasoned batter. If you would like to reassure yourself about how the Chicken McNuggets are made then take a look at the recent independent Quality Scout report. What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 12. Exactly how much corn is in your chicken nuggets?
-
Firstly, many apologies for the very slow response to your question, as the site went through a few changes, some questions had slipped through the net, so thank you for your patience. The coating of the chicken nugget contains wheat flour and maize flour. The exact amounts of each ingredient are confidential but there is no more than 17% wheat and maize flour in total in the coating of a nugget.
The full ingredient declaration for the chicken nugget is: Chicken (45%), Coating (Vegetable Oil (Rapeseed Oil, Sunflower Oil), Wheat Flour, Maize Flour, Raising Agents (E450 Disodium Diphosphate, E500 Sodium Bicarbonate, E341 Monocalcium Phosphate), Dried Egg Albumen, Pepper, Salt, Wheat Starch, Whey Powder, Ground Celery, Flavour Enhancer (E508 Potassium Chloride), Vegetable Oil (Rapeseed Oil)), Water, Natural Flavouring, Flavour Enhancer (E508 Potassium Chloride), Potato Starch, Vegetable Oil (Rapeseed Oil).

-
Assuming that the meal consists of 4 Chicken McNuggets, a portion of regular French fries and a small Coca Cola, there would be a total of 505 (KCals) and 20g of fat, of which 2 is saturated. This information was calculated using the ‘Nutrition Counter’ which you can find in the ‘Eat Smart’ section at www.mcdonalds.co.uk. Here you can find the nutritional content information for all McDonald’s food menu items.

-
McDonald's is disappointed to hear that you don't enjoy its Chicken McNuggets. Speaking only for itself, along with the legendary Big Mac, the Chicken McNuggets are one of the most popular items on the McDonald's menu. McDonald's nuggets are made from 100 per cent chicken breast meat and covered in a crispy seasoned batter and it’s a recipe that appears to be popular, and with two million customers visiting McDonald's UK everyday it seems that the company is doing something right. You might like to try the Chicken Selects as an alternative to the Chicken Nuggets; these are tender chicken breast strips in a crispy coating.
