In "The Omnivore's Dilemma" by Michael Pollan it is suggested that nuggets contain (either in, or applied to the surrounding packaging) tertiary butylhydroquinone, or TBHQ, an antioxidant that helps preserve freshness. It is claimed that TBHQ is a form of butane, and can be poisonous in sufficient quantities. I cannot find it in your ingredients list. Is the author right?

Thanks for your question. Tertiary butylhydroquinone, or TBHQ, is known as the additive E319 and is not found in any items on McDonald's menu.
