Thank you for your question. However, the calorie content of a Happy Meal depends on which meal combination is chosen. Nutritional information for all McDonald's menu items can be found using the ‘Nutrition Counter’ which you can find in the ‘Eat Smart’ section at www.mcdonalds.co.uk. 2. why do you put salt onto the fries, especially those that go into a happy meal, children should not be having salt in this way
The French Fries are salted because that's how most customers say they prefer them. There are trials underway in selected restaurants with unsalted Fries, but whether this will roll out to all restaurants depends on customer feedback. But you can always ask for your Fries unsalted and restaurant staff should be able to make you a portion as requested. You may be interested to know that McDonald's has been working closely with the Food Standard's Agency to reduce salt levels across its menu and is well on track to meeting the targets set by the Government for 2010. DECEMBER '07 UPDATE: McDonald's French Fries are now fully accredited by the Vegetarian Society. (December 2007)

3. honestly how much fat goes in to ne of you happy meal?
This will depend on the Happy Meal chosen. A Happy Meal that consists of a Hamburger, a small portion of French Fries and a Tropicana Orange Juice contains 20g of fat, 4 of which are saturated. The current Happy Meal menu includes the option to replace French Fries with Carrots Sticks or Fruit Bags and beverage choices include bottled Vittel Mineral Water (Still) and Organic Milk. All McDonald's customers can find out about what they are eating by looking at the nutritional information on the back of tray liners in restaurants, on some food packaging and by going to the 'Eat Smart' section of www.mcdonalds.co.uk. There is also a specific website for information on Happy Meals at www.happymealchoice.co.uk, which includes a nutrition counter and advice on balanced diets for children. (June 2007)

You are correct that both the Cheeseburger and a small portion of Fries contain 12g fat - this is purely coincidental. The Happy Meal menu includes the option to replace French Fries with Fruit Bags or Carrots Sticks and the drink choice includes water, Organic Milk or Tropicana Orange Juice. All McDonald’s customers can find out about what they are eating by looking at the nutritional information on the back of tray liners in restaurants, on some food packaging and by going to the ‘Eat Smart’ section of www.mcdonalds.co.uk. 5. how many calories in a kids happy meal...nuggets and fries...and what % is that of their gda...(10 years old) .
The current McDonald’s Guideline Daily Allowances for children are worked out for a girl aged four to seven with normal physical activity. A Happy Meal consisting of a four piece of Chicken McNuggets, small French Fries and a small Coke will contain, the following calorie values. A four piece of Chicken McNuggets contain 175 kcals, which is 11 percent of your child’s GDA, a small portion of French Fries contains 235 kcals, which is 15 percent of the GDA and for example a small Coca- Cola contains 105 kcals which is 7 percent of the GDA. So this will total 33 percent of the GDA allowance. Working out the GDAs for individuals is based not only on age and sex but also physical activity, so it is difficult without further information for McDonald’s to supply the equivalent percentages for a ten year old. However, if you go to www.mcdonaldsmenu.info you can calculate this for yourself.
