Half way through eating this he complained of the "music getting louder" (it didn't) and then I noticed him dancing and acting far too hyperactive, then he usually is. What "E" numbers are in these ice-creams?
-
Thank you for your question. A Wispa McFlurry contains the following additives: Guar Gum, Mono and Diglycerides of Fatty Acids, Carrageenan, Ammonium Phosphatides, Soya Lecithin, Polyglycerol Polyricinoleate, Titanium Dioxide and Potassium Sorbate. -
Firstly apologies for the delay in answering your question, the team has been very busy with all the questions that are pouring in and everybody is working hard to answer them all.
The only items that are available on Halal menu in the Southall restaurant are chicken based foods; they are clearly marked for customers to see. The rest of the products are prepared in the original way and can also be clearly identified. In regards to the French fries No, this is absolutely not true; they are not coated in any animal fats at all. You will be happy to know that the French Fries sold in McDonald's UK are suitable for vegetarians. McDonald's UK uses new non-hydrogenated, GM free cooking oil. This reduces the levels of Trans Fatty Acids (TFAs) to their lowest possible levels - less than two percent (naturally occurring TFAs make it impossible to reach zero percent). The oil (a blend of sunflower and rapeseed) has been carefully developed to ensure it does not raise saturated fat content, or change the taste. Finally, McDonald's does not consider the Ice Cream to be Halal, however, there are no pigs hooves or bird excretion in their ingredients. The ingredients for the Ice Cream are as follows: Skimmed Milk, Cream (35% Butterfat), Sugar,
Whey powder, Glucose Syrup, Stabilisers (E412
Guar Gum, E471 Mono and Diglycerides of Fatty
Acids), Flavouring, E407 Carrageenan
(standardised with sugars), Dextrose.
For full ingredient information on all McDonald's food please use the 'Ingredient List' which is in the 'Eat Smart' section at www.mcdonalds.co.uk.(Dec 2008)
SEPTEMBER '09 TRIAL RESULT: McDonald’s began this trial because we wanted to assess customer demand for certified Halal food in our UK restaurants. We have learnt that Halal is only popular with a very small percentage of our customers and to offer it we would need to make significant changes to our kitchen procedures and supply chain. Given this, we have decided that we are not currently in a position to roll out Halal food in the UK.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 6. Is the whey in your milkshakes and mcfluffys vegetarian?
-
Thank you for your question. All McDonald’s UK Milkshakes are suitable for vegetarians. Each milkshake will have slightly different ingredients depending on its flavour, but all are made of around 75 percent of milk, which comes from the British Isles. In addition all of the ice cream sundae sauces (toffee and strawberry) are suitable for vegetarians. The McFlurry ice cream is suitable for vegetarians, but only the Crunchie and Dairy Milk toppings are OK. Smarties contain E120, which some vegetarians may want to avoid.
