You'll be happy to know that none of these things are ingredients in McDonald's Milkshakes. Each McDonald’s milkshake will contain slightly different ingredients depending on its flavour, but all milkshakes are made up of a base of around 75 percent milk, which comes from cows across the British Isles. When milk and sugar are refrigerated to a certain temperature, the combination of sugar and ice particles naturally thickens the mixture. The Milkshake machines keep this mixture constantly moving so that air can also thicken the consistency. A stabilizing agent, "guar gum", is also added as it is to many ice creams, which you can buy in the supermarkets. McDonald's milkshakes are also suitable for vegetarians and have been approved by the Vegetarian Society. A full list of ingredients for all McDonald's menu items is available in the 'Food' section of www.mcdonalds.co.uk.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 19. When I went on holiday to Canada, the milkshakes there (namely chocolate) were far superior to the ones served in the U.K. They actually tasted like chocolate and had a much nicer texture. They used to be alright a long time ago, but since then they've tasted more like honey mixed with random chemicals. What's up with that? Don't give me the line about being sorry for my experience please. ;)

Thank you for your question, however Make Up Your Own Mind has been set up specifically to answer questions about McDonald's within the UK so it is hard for us to answer specific questions about products in other markets. McDonald’s UK milkshakes will contain slightly different ingredients depending on its flavour, but all milkshakes are made up of a base of around 75 percent milk, which comes from cows across the British Isles. When milk and sugar are refrigerated to a certain temperature, the combination of sugar and ice particles naturally thickens the mixture. A stabilizing agent, "guar gum", is also added as it is to many ice creams, which you can buy in the supermarkets. We can reassure you that McDonalds UK milkshakes do not contain any ‘honey’. If you are ever unhappy with your purchase, please bring it to the attention of the restaurant manager or crew member who will replace it with a another new fresh order.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 20. I'm from the Philippines and I notice that the burgers in abroad are bigger than the burgers we have here - isn't there a worldwide QA that is supposed to check on this? I'm also concerned on the "lard in McDo milkshakes" - you've already answered that question previously but even though the UK site shows the content of the McDo foods does that mean it's only applicable for the McDo branches there, and not here? That brings me back to the QA on McDonald chains here in the Philippines.

McDonald’s aims to be the best restaurant experience the world over, and standards and practices should be very similar. However, this website was specifically designed as an open forum to deal with issues surrounding McDonald’s UK. As such the company cannot really comment on the practices of McDonald’s in the Philippines.
As you correctly state, McDonald’s UK milkshakes do not contain any ‘Lard’. Each McDonald's milkshake will have slightly different ingredients depending on its flavour but all milkshakes are made up of around 75 percent of milk, which comes from the British Isles. The full ingredients of the milkshake base (before specific flavouring) are: Milk, Sugar, Whey Powder, Glucose Syrup, Cream, Stabiliser (Guar Gum, Carageenan (standardised with sugars), Dextrose, Carob Gum.

In a reply in "Whats in the Food - Milkshakes" regarding what is in a strawberry milkshake you say that it is not true that there are 59 ingredients in the Strawberry Flavouring. But your reply repeats the question, and just states Strawberry Flavour as being an ingredient. What is in Strawberry Flavour?
-
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately the actual composition of the strawberry flavour used in McDonald's strawberry milkshakes is commercially sensitive information so, in this instance, we are unable to answer your question. Sorry.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 25. Is it true that your Milkshakes contain a collection of Pig Bones, and that a medium sized shake contains around 15 tablespoons of sugar? Why do your products contain so much salt and sugar? Is this to beef up the rest of britain so Americans have a chance in the olyimpics?
-
No, this is not true. McDonald's milkshakes do not contain pig bones. Each McDonald's milkshake will have slightly different ingredients depending on its flavour but all milkshakes are made up of around 75 percent milk, which comes from the British Isles. Furthermore they are suitable for vegetarians and have been approved by the Vegetarian Society.
A medium McDonald's Vanilla Milkshake contains approximately 65g of sugar. This equates to roughly 15 teaspoons NOT tablespoons of sugar.
Salt and sugar are typically used for flavouring and for preservation. For milkshakes and ice cream, sugar is used for flavour and to form ice crystals. This is standard practice amongst all ice cream manufacturers. With all the choice available throughout the McDonald's menu, there will be varying amounts of salt and sugar within the individual items.
You can find out more about the salt and sugar content of McDonald's foods in the 'Nutrition' section at www.mcdonalds.co.uk.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 28. Hello :) Why have you removed all the excess salt from your fries? They don't taste so yummy... Do the milkshakes contain animal fat? Also you say theres no MSG in your products then why do people beocme so addticted to your products? Thanks
-
McDonald's French Fries are still salted by the crew members after cooking, although it would be unfair to say they are excessively so. As they are salted by hand, you may get some portions slightly more salty than others. If you would like to have further salt added to your fries then just ask the crew member serving you who will happily provide you with extra salt sachets. Excluding the milk itself, there are no animal fats in McDonald's milkshakes. On the final point, there is nothing in McDonald's food that is intended to make it addictive. In fact, many of the ingredients in McDonald's food can be found in a variety of other foods that you might buy at a local supermarket.
