- 16. I thoroughly enjoy McDonalds milkshakes, is the flavouring used powder based or liquid? And can it be purchased commercially? Also do you feel that Rafa Benitez rotation is the reason the Liverpool fell short in the title race? Or do you think that with the amount of games that are played in a season, that rotation is the only way to stop players tiring during the 'business' end of the season as is evident with Liverpool’s good run at the end of the previous campaigns?
-
Leaving Liverpool to other experts, however, Each McDonald's milkshake will have slightly different ingredients depending on its flavour but all milkshakes are made up of around 75 percent of milk, which comes from the British Isles. The full ingredients of the milkshake base (before specific flavouring) are: Milk, skimmed milk, cream, sugar, skimmed milk powder, glucose. Stabilisers: E412 guar gum, E452 sodium phosphate, E407 carrageenan, E466 carboxymethylcellulose and vanilla flavour. If you would like any further details on the milkshakes or indeed any item on the McDonald's menu, all food, ingredients and nutritional information are available online in 'Eat Smart' section of www.mcdonalds.co.uk under the 'Nutrition Counter' section.

-
You'll be happy to know that chicken fat being an ingredient in McDonald's Milkshakes is a complete myth. There is no chicken by-product whatsoever in the Milkshakes. Regarding your question on the video there are no current plans. Sorry.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 19. Is it true you make milkshakes out of LARD?!?!? coz that is disgusting! And my teacher says that the salads are less healthy than the burgers! thats abit stupid innit? Gaaaawd whats this world comming to? Love you xXxXx
-
Firstly McDonald's apologises unreservedly for the late reply to your question. There were some technical problems which caused some questions to slip through.
Regarding your question: McDonald’s is constantly surprised by the myths surrounding the ingredients in its food. There is no lard in the Milkshakes. The base ingredients of the Milkshakes are as follows: Milk, Sugar, Whey Powder, Glucose Syrup, Cream (40% Butterfat), Stabiliser (E412 Guar Gum, E407 Carrageenan (Standardised with sugars), Dextrose, E410 Locust Bean Gum. The rest of the ingredients depend upon the flavour you choose. All our different milkshakes have been approved as vegetarian by the Vegetarian Society.
What is 'healthy' or 'unhealthy' is a question up for debate. Nutritionists say that food items can’t be categorised either way, but that it’s a matter of moderation, balance and physical activity in your overall diet. If you would like to compare the burgers and salads, you can find all McDonald’s food ingredients and information in the 'Ingredients List' which is in the 'Eat Smart' section of www.mcdonalds.co.uk. Also, there is a comprehensive list of nutritional and allergen information available at www.mcdonaldsmenu.info.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 21. What do you use to thicken the milkishake and is your tarte sauce suitable for vegetarians? Also, do you mix your oils?? Thanks
-
McDonald’s milkshakes contain milk as the largest ingredient. When milk and sugar are refrigerated to a certain temperature, the combination of sugar and ice particles naturally thickens the mixture. The milkshake machines keep this mixture constantly moving so that air can also thicken the consistency. A stabilizing agent, E412 guar gum, is also added, as it is to many ice creams you can buy in the supermarkets. The tartare sauce does contain egg yolk. It is only usually served in the Filet-o-Fish sandwich, which is not suitable for vegetarians. McDonald’s does not mix its oils – McDonald’s UK is now using a new non-hydrogenated cooking oil in its restaurants, substantially reducing the levels of Trans Fatty Acids in many of its most popular products. The chicken, fish and vegetarian items are always kept apart.
FEBRUARY '08 UPDATE: McDonald’s UK now do not use any hydrogenated oil in any food items across the entire menu.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 22. Your milkshakes are made of 75% milk from the British Isles. What is the other 25%? What are the ingredients of the mayonaise you put in the Big Macs? And is it true that there has been a recent discovery of a chemical found in heroin on your fries to make them slightly addictive? Also why dont the fries decompose? Every other food or potato i have seen does.
-
The base for all McDonald's shakes is milk sourced from the British Isles, as you quite rightly say. The remaining 25 percent is made up of the additional ingredients required to ensure that the milkshakes remain fresh and the flavour ordered. A full list of ingredients can be found online in the 'Ingredients List' which is in the 'Eat Smart' section of www.mcdonalds.co.uk.
The mayonnaise used on some of the menu items is provided by Hellmann's. And the sauce for the Big Mac is a closely guarded secret recipe (although the ingredients can be found on the site listed above).
McDonald's French Fries are made from British-sourced potatoes. The only ingredients that added are dextrose, a grain-derived sugar that helps the Fries brown and crisp when fried in the non-hydrogenated vegetable oil, and then only at a certain time in the season when the natural sugars found in potatoes have not had time to develop - and salt after cooking. Hence, a McDonald's French Fry will decay at exactly the same rate as any other potato based product.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 24. A member of staff at McDonalds advised me that the milkshake was not suitable for vegitarians. What animal products are in the milkshake and why?
-
The company apologises for any confusion that may have occurred. McDonald's Strawberry Milkshake used to contain E120 cochineal, which is a natural colour sourced from animals, making this unsuitable for vegetarians or those concerned about products of animal origin. But you will be happy to know that McDonald's no longer uses this ingredient. The colouring used is a natural beetroot juice concentrate (E162) which makes the Strawberry Milkshake suitable for all to enjoy.

What are these? Delicious Digg Reddit Facebook StumbleUpon - 26. I heard that your milkshake was made from chicken hooves, is this true? I know the rumors about the nuggets being all beaks and feet and burgers being filled out with chicken are no longer true but I can't believe the milkshake is also chicken enriched!
-
Chicken hooves! No, there are definitely no chicken hooves in the milkshakes, or any other chicken parts for that matter. The Chicken McNuggets are made from carefully deboned white chicken breast meat. They do not contain feet, beaks or even the darker cuts of chicken meat. There are many rumours and urban myths about McDonald’s ingredients and if you want any further information all food, ingredients and nutritional information are available online in 'Eat Smart' section of www.mcdonalds.co.uk under the 'Nutrition Counter' section.

The Banana Milkshake only contains banana flavouring, but the strawberry milkshake does contain 1.6 per cent real strawberry juice concentrate. The milkshakes are extremely popular, with a recipe that has been virtually unchanged for years. The full ingredients list is available under the 'Eat Smart' section of the www.mcdonalds.co.uk site.

Nutritionists say that individual food items are not 'healthy' or 'unhealthy'. It's a matter of variation, moderation, balance and physical activity in your overall diet that counts. The company does not believe that it should tell people what they should or should not eat. If you would like to review the nutritional values of a chocolate milkshake, there is a comprehensive list of nutritional and allergen information available at www.mcdonaldsmenu.info.
