1. I am doing the McDonald's apprenticeship and find your scout reports very useful. Is there any on pork? Thanks
We are glad to hear the information is useful; unfortunately we haven’t got a quality scout report on pork. You might like to know that all of the pork used by McDonald's UK is British. McDonald’s UK source from around 880 British pig farmers and use the belly, back and shoulder cuts in its Streaky Bacon, Back Bacon and Sausage Patties. There are currently no other products that contain pork meat or pork products on the UK menu. If you have any other questions please just ask. We also suggest visit out website www.mcdonalds.co.uk. Thank you for your question. All McDonald’s UK bacon products are made from British farm assured pork, which has been cured and smoked using Beechwood then cooked. (April 2011)

3. I have seen your brouchure of simple facts about food, but i could not see any thing about BACON. Is that missed??? Its good to know the facts (indeed it was a very good one), but at the same time dont htink u should have been missd such thing.
McDonald’s is glad to hear you have found the brochure informative and helpful. The brochure was designed to cover the core ingredients that make up the primary McDonald’s menu, like beef and chicken, offering comprehensive and straightforward nutritional information on all of its food to help customers make informed choices about what they eat. With regards to bacon, which is used as a breakfast ingredient and as an additional topping on some of our speciality burgers like the Big Tasty with Bacon, all of the bacon that used is from British pigs. The bacon McDonald’s uses is cuts of trimmed, cured and sliced pork belly which is pre-cooked by McDonald’s bacon supplier and then heated in the restaurants using a steamer. If you would like any more ingredient or nutritional information about McDonald's food, you can find it in the 'Eat Smart' section of www.mcdonalds.co.uk, or on the reverse of the tray liners in restaurants.
