Unfortunately the Deli of the day does not come as part of an extra value meal, but you can separately order Carrot Sticks, a Garden Side Salad or French fries or a beverage of your choice separately if you wish to make up your own meal.

The Toasted Deli Sandwich was first introduced in 2005, and while there are no current plans to introduce a new Deli Sandwich to the menu, McDonald’s is constantly reviewing its menu so keep an eye out as you never know when you might see an new addition or promotion.

Regarding your question, after the hard work of researching ingredients and recipes in the making of McDonald’s food, there comes the fun part of finally naming the item. McDonald’s likes the taste of its food to do the talking, and overall, you’ll find the food item menu names are simple and direct, Hamburger, Cheeseburger and Big Mac, in the case of the Toasted Deli Sandwiches McDonald’s have continued this tradition. No gimmicks or fuss, just tasty food with a name that gives a clue as to what you are ordering.

Ive noticed there seems to be some attempt to take on the 'Subway' market with the Deli of the day -- but where have the chicken tikka deli sandwiches gone?! I've also noticed as a regular deli sandwich buyer that the rolls have also shrunk quite drastically -- yet there seems to be no reflection in the price for this?

Thank you for your question and sorry for the slow response - unfortunately your question seems to have slipped through the records. It's a shame that you miss the Chicken Tikka Toasted Deli sandwich. It was removed from the menu as it wasn't popular with the majority of customers. With reference to the size of the Toasted Deli Sandwiches, they are only available in one size, and this size has not changed or been reduced. The only difference made to the sandwich has been a slight reduction to the amount of salad after customer feedback revealed that customers thought the sandwiches were too messy. It would also be worth pointing out that everyday there is a 'Deli of the Day' offer which is sold at £1.99. The sandwich option changes each day. So on your next visit to McDonald's look out for the new Spicy Veggie Deli, or the BBQ Pork Sandwich.

Thanks for your question. This specific sandwich didn't prove very popular at the time, and there are no current plans to re-instate it on the main menu.

Sorry to bring bad news, but the Chicken Tikka Toasted Deli Sandwich was not very popular with the majority of customers and, therefore, was discontinued.
McDonald's hopes that you might like one of the other tasty Toasted Deli options on the menu. Have you tried the Sweet Chilli Chicken or new Toasted Deli Spicy Veggie sandwich?

The sandwich sauce used in the McChicken Sandwich is McDonald’s own recipe. Creating a dip is something that has been considered over the years, but McDonald’s has decided that the McChicken Sandwich Sauce should remain solely in the sandwich. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news on this one... (October 2007)
